I will be posting our rules once we decide on them. Obviously we are all pros here, but in case there ARE arguments, we can always just refer to these.

Hey Guys, I'm going to put some stuff out there, if you agree awesome, if not then that's okay.
1. Like I said on Facebook, if real life gets in the way, nobody get mad. We're all adults now, it happens.
2. If you know you will be disappearing for more than two weeks, just give someone a heads up.
3. No one should ever presume a character will act a certain way.
4. If a character does something you don't like, too bad. It's fiction and besides it makes it interested.
5. Let's get ridiculous.

(( THANK YOU RAVEN. Everyone post rules! YAY )) Try to avoid making characters that will say or do things that will OBVIOUSLY offend someone (such as creating an Anti-Semitic character that beats up Jews, or a character who is currently in the KKK. although this is fiction, it still offensive) Be respectful on and off the forums. This board doesn't have a rating. Clear it up with whoever you are RPing with on what they are or aren't comfortable with. If your thread gets highly X-rated, just put a little warning on it so other readers know. ADD MORE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO peace. love. 1899.

How about no 'god modding' which, for those who don't know, is trying to control someone elses character!
If you have a plot idea ask the others you want to get involved with it first before running off with the idea?
those are just two I could think of.

I think also just a quick refresher on the rules of the RP realm, i.e., ((This is how you format out-of-character/story stuff.))
Also a basic how-to-write-in-forum-format for those remedial kids like me that used to do this sort of thing over AIM would be nice. For example, if I'm going to work/bed/life-stuff, do I need to put it in OOC parentheses or is it just understood that I'll get back to this when I get back to it?
Because I'm all for dusting off my writing skills, but between work, married life, friends, and volunteering...

I've only done one message board RP before, but there it was generally understood that you replied to things when you could, or if you had time for a really long session, you could IM your thread buddy and see if they wanted to get on the board and go at it with you.

There's a chat section, so like I mentioned above if you're going to be gone for 2 weeks without any activity just post something there and everyone will understand. I think everyone knows we wont be posting every day but it'll be good to at least be kept informed if your thread is going to go dead for awhile.
I always use paranthesis when its me talking and my stupid ass commentary is always in there lol

Should we also use the chat section to plan out RPs and do "casting calls?"
Like, "I want my character to be here and meet another character?" Are we starting this all at the very beginning or are the relationships already formed?

That's exactly what that section should be for too. If you have a plot idea but don't know who u want to play with post it in that section.
Also I think it would be okay to just throw something up on the board and see what happens without planning it out ot asking anyone to respond.
Question, if you've plotted something out with a certain group of characters and someone wants to get it on it, can they just post and join or should they ask one of the members of the thread?

Oh! And for relationship stuff I think it should just go individually...like in my mind rae and spot have been together since the ice age so they're together lol

Yeah, I want Sapphy and all my characters to be established in their lodging houses (etc) but I want their friendships to still be new...
Maybe we should ask before jumping in? Or maybe we can have a status in the first post of each thread? Like OPEN or CLOSED to new people?

I like the status idea that way there wont be any confusion.

Request: So my little mind can keep things straight, can we put who plays who in the OC's in their signatures or something? Or have a cast list?

We can if you guys want, but usually we all end up figuring out who is who eventually anyway. It was my fault that I forgot to add i the profile format who you really are behind the character
But from my past experiences, CLOSED and OPEN works well. Usually you just assume everything is open unless it says CLOSED. And if you wanna start a new thread, you can always just post anywhere and see who responds (its part of the fun)
Sapphy, we can also assume that most people have been in the LH for awhile. Not everyone has to be new. For example, I might ask Raven if her and Zippy can be friends for awhile. Try to set up relationships before hand, or decide right on the spot with someone else via parenthesis.
((This is Zippy by the way for anyone who is confused!!))
