When Rae was sure Spot was through with the game she made her way over to the table. She was formulating what she wanted to say, calculating everything in her mind. When she reached him she leaned in close to his ear, hands rested on his shoulders.
"So sweetie," she cooed, "is there something you want to tell me?"

Spot blinked at her, adjusting his hat and reaching for his glass of beer. He had no idea what she was talking about.
"Yeah, stay close to me," Spot ordered anyway, grabbing her by her waist and pulling her securely on his lap. "Quit running around this damn place."

"That's all?" She asked with wide eyed bewilderment. "You don't want to tell me about those meetings? The ones with the guy and the envelopes? I was hoping you would." She crossed her arms and glared at him.

Spot stared at her. "Calm down, woman. I have no idea what you are talking about."
But inside, Spot was freaking out. HOW DID SHE KNOW? WHO THE HELL TOLD HER?

"Calm down woman?" Raven stood up, arms crossed and raised an eyebrow. "You have no idea what I'm talking about?" She asked again. "Okay Spot...lie to me again and see what happens? What is going on and who is the guy with the envelopes?" Raven hissed at him.

"Just another bird," Spot replied casually, stretching his arms on the back of his head and looking her dead in the eye. "Leader business, Rae. You are about to make a big deal out of nothing." Raven was on the verge of making a scene, and Spot was thinking rapidly. How did she know? What did she think he was doing?
He tried to catch Tristan's eye, but he knew that Tristan wouldn't be able to do much, either.

"Uh huh, leader business...just another bird...handing you an envelope in a back alley?" Raven question further. "Uh huh...right, Spot Conlon...and I live on Fifth Avenue. Do you take me for an idiot!?"
Tristan shrugged and turned away from Spot, taking a puff on his cigar. He was no fool, he wasn't getting involved.

"Yeah, I do, because if you had any brains you'd realize I would never want to discuss anything like this at the goddamn poker game, where anyone can fucking hear !" He said in a harsh breath, keeping his voice low as he glared at her.
"You're a stupid drunk right now. We'll talk tomorrow about this," he added firmly, standing up to go find another poker game to join.

Raven was fuming. "If you would just tell me the fucking truth instead of trying to hide whatever you've been doing we wouldn't be screaming at each other in public! I asked you three times and told you not to fucking lie to me!" Raven bellowed pointing at him.
"If you had any fucking brains you should know that once you start lying that means its over! If you had any fucking brains you would stop shoving me off!" She screamed continuing her tirade.
"Don't ever talk to me like im your property to be ordered when and where I can talk to you!" Raven picked up Tristans drink and gulped it down.
"As a stupid drunk I think I just found my clarity!" Raven turned on her heel and started to storm off.
(Yep don't lie to her)

Spot caught up with her, grabbing her arm. "You wanna be mad at me? Fine. But don't be fucking stupid and run around here angry and alone! if you wanna leave, take one of my boys and fucking get. I can't fucking deal with you when you get like this!" Spot shook his head, his own blood boiling.
Maybe she was right, maybe they were done. Maybe they were over. But Spot knew she would never approve of the choices he made, and trying to explain right here and right now didnt seem like the best option either.

"This is your fault," Raven snarled at him, pressing a finger against his chest. "If you would just tell me the God damn truth we wouldn't be doing this right now. What is left when you can't even tell me the fucking truth Spot? What's left when I can't trust you?"She yanked her arm out of his grip, still seething.

Spot tried to stay composed. He was the goddamn leader of Brooklyn for christ sake, and everyone was staring. "You don't have a fucking clue what I want, or need, do you?" He began to slowly back off, hands in his pockets. "How the fuck do you expect the truth when you don't even take the goddamn time to see things from my perspective?"
Things were becoming clear to spot. Here Raven was, flipping a drunk shit over nothing- well, it wasn't nothing, but she didn't know that- and causing a scene. Not only was she completely exposing them, but she was making his private life public, which she KNEW he hated.

"The difference between us is that I might not know all the time, but at least I try. You don't even fucking care," Raven snapped at him.
"What you think you want is some pretty little girl who will sit by nice and quietly while you do whatever the hell you want regardless or whether it's right or wrong. Go ahead, go and get her. I'm sick of this bullshit," She ripped off her necklace in one hard tug, which of course had a key to his room on it and shoved it into his hand, closing his palm around it, she stepped up very close to him.
"We fight because you try to hide things from me and protect me, but all that ends up doing is push me away and makes me suspicious of you. That's not a relationship, Spot."
Raven walked away from him.

And the amazing thing was, Spot let her go, forming an angry fist in the hand that held her key.
"Spot?" Freddy asked, suddenly appearing behind him. "Should we follow her?"
Spot paused, watching her leave. "No," and put the necklace over his own neck. Now he could work in peace, and get his life together.
