"Just Mush. Or, if you're really mad at me or somethin' you can call me Teddy. But never in front of Race or Blink." He shook his head, his expression conveying to Ershey that bad things would happen were she ever to do so.

"I'm guessin' they'll give you crap about it, huh?" she laughed, imagining the scene play in her head. "So your name's Teddy?"
She bit her lip, trying to resist the urge to say it was the cutest thing she'd ever heard of.

"Well, Theodore, really. But, yeah. Teddy. Same as the governor." He told her, puffing out his chest with pride. Ever since Teddy Roosevelt had been so supportive and crucial to the strike, Mush hadn't been so embarrassed of his given name.

"You're the cutest Teddy I know," she smirked teasingly, trying her best not to laugh. "So I get permission to call you that, then?"

"If you really want to... But only when it's just the two of us." He had grown attached to his newsie name, and he only allowed Ershey to call him that because she was special.
"What about you, huh? What's your name?"

"Adrianne," she answered quietly. She wasn't used to telling people her real name. She felt like it didn't fit her and it was too out of place. "Or just call me Adri. I feel like I'm in trouble when someone calls me Adrianne."

"Adri." He said softly, feeling like he was saying someone else's name. He was about to say something charming (at least he thought so) when the waiter came to their table.
"A hot dog and a turkey sandwich for me, please."

"I'll get the same thing," said Ershey, smiling at him before the waiter nodded and ran off to the kitchen.
"So, I'll let you call me Adri only when it's just the two of us, alright? Then I won't tell the boys about Teddy," she said, smirking over at him.

Mush rolled his eyes jokingly. "Okay, Adri." He replied, returning her smirk.
"How'd you get your nick name anyways?"

"You know the chocolate bar? Hershey?"
She figured not a lot of newsies knew about it since only the uppity people had access. "When I was workin' as a maid before... it was all the little kids wanted to eat. So they started callin' me that. They couldn't pronounce the H so it became Ershey."

"Huh. That's never something I would have thought of." Mush laughed a little, glad that he was learning all these new things about Ersh.
"Cute, though. It fits you. 'Cause you're as sweet as chocolate... Argh, sorry that was just corny."

Ershey couldn't help but laugh at him, completely amused by his last comment.
"You're as cute as a teddy bear then," she said, still laughing.

Mush laughed along with her, not caring that they were attracting some odd looks.
"I really don't know what came over me. 'Sweet as chocolate?' Man, that's not charming at all!"

"You tried," she chuckled, smiling at him. "How did you get your nickname?"

"My brain turns to mush around girls and other intimidating people." Mush admitted, thinking of the first time he ever met Kloppman. He'd just stood at the front desk going "Uh... Um..." and Kloppman had declared that his brain had turned to mush! The rest was history, of course.
