Sapphy eyed Goblin with the mysterious boy as they entered the center. New boy was cute. But picking up boys around where she lived -- where everyone she knew would see her -- wasn't her style.
Still, she didn't know much about Goblin either, and for Kennedy's sake -- yeah, she knew, she was probably the only one, too -- she should find out more about him.
She let them get in line behind her before turning with her most disarming smile.
"How'd selling the morning edition go for ya, Goblin?"

He smiled brightly, rather surprised that she actually knew who he was, but not showing that in the least. "Sold like hotcakes. All of Manhattan was mesmerized by the ups and downs of the stock market and the First Lady's headache remedies." He added courteously, "Risk, this is Sapphire Eyes. Sapphy, Risk. New at the lodging house."

Sapphy was more like Kennedy then she let on... She noticed everything.
"Nice to meet you Risk," she smiled at him warmly. Too bad, he really was cute.

Risk grew excited once they reached the Distribution Center, taking in all the different faces as the newsies stood in line to get their papers. This is going to be fun.
"Nice to meet you, Sapphy" said Risk, wondering whether he should bow or shake her hand. He finally decided to simply smile back at her instead of creeping her out. He definitely didn't want to be branded as the new creepy guy at the lodging house. "You live at the lodging house too?"

You sure do know a lot for someone who's lived here for a short while, thought Risk as he observed Goblin's behavior. He noted that he was confident alone yet slinked away in groups. Either way, Risk was grateful for the introduction.
"I just came in today, so Goblin here is showing me the ropes," said Risk, patting his new friend on the back.
