Lillian considered giving him the silent treatment until he relented, but that felt too childish and negative. She wrapped her arms around his neck and tried a different tactic.
"When is this surprise gonna take place?" She asked softly, playing with the ends of his hair with her fingertips.

Once Lillian leaned over to kiss him, Ryan broke. "It's in the stables," he murmured, his lips still on hers.

With an excited squeal, Lillian got to her feet and made a run for the stables.

Ryan simply shook his head at her, laughing as he slowly followed behind. He knew she already had her own horse, but he couldn't help but pick another one out for her. Plus, he included a new riding outfit. This girl was going to be so spoiled.

Lillian arrived at the stables fairly quickly, her heart racing.
She gasped as she saw the beautiful palomino standing idly as the stable boy brushed her.
"Oh, my..." Her eyes were as wide as her mouth as she took in the horse.

Lillian walked toward the horse and gently ran her hand over her neck and mane. Her hair was soft as silk and absolutely perfect.
She ran back to Ryan and flung herself onto him, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. "Oh, you shouldn't have. She's gorgeous and perfect. I can't believe you did this for me."

"I'm glad you like it," he grinned, hugging her tightly before kissing her on the forehead. "Well, today's for you. And as long as you're happy, that's all that matters."
He was elated that she was so happy. The days of visiting stables and negotiating with the owners finally paid off.

"Oh, now, that's not fair. I'm not the only one who's getting married." She pointed out as she stepped away from him.
"I actually got you something, too. A few days ago, but it wasn't ready until today. Nothing quite so extravagant as my beauty over there." She glanced at the horse, still trying to figure out what to name her.

He wanted to spoil her to make up for all the trouble he gave her when they were bickering and after each other's throats. It's funny how things change.

"It's up in my room. Just wait right here, okay?" She dashed back to the house before he could say anything. She made her way to her room and grabbed the black box that was sitting on her vanity.
She was back in no time, walking slowly back to Ryan so she could catch her breath.
