Race shrugged. "You're leaving me the lodging house," he said for the millionth time, though half the time he was pretty sure he didn't want it. He mused that things must really be going badly with Stagey.
He also glanced at Sapphy, thinking wistfully that the two of them would be chatting and laughing nonstop if they didn't have company.

"Great. All of you enjoy the wide open skies while I'm stuck in Manhattan," Race said only half-jokingly, because his head was still in the process of splitting in two--and even if it was all just wishful thinking on their part, the thought of losing Cowboy and Sapphy was fairly depressing.

"Somebody needs to get this kid some food or something..." Jack was starting to feel like he needed something to eat too, or he was going to vomit, whichever came first. Obviously Jack handled hangovers much better than Race.
