He smirked, chuckling, rubbing a hand over her back. "You about wore me out that time, Sugar." He kept her on his lap, not wanting her to move away just yet.

He kept close to her, even though she moved off of him, reaching for her hand under the water. He leaned his head back over the lip of the tub, looking up at the stars. "Nice night, ain't it."

He rolled his head to the side to look back at her, smiling. "Ya know what? When I stopped by your place today, I really didn't intend on sleepin' with ya. I mean, I wanted to. But I didn't plan it." He gave her hand a squeeze.

He lifted a shoulder in a light shrug, rolling his head back to look up at the sky again. His fingers laced with hers under the water. "I guess I just wanted to check up on ya. Make sure you were okay."

He turned his head to look at her again, catching her eyes. "Ya say that a lot, Rae. But I dunno if you are all the time. I mean, nobody's okay all the time." He lifted his head to lean over and press his forehead to hers. "Ya don't gotta be strong all the time, Raven."

Raven lowered her eyes and then sighed heavily. She let a hand come up to rest on his shoulder. "When they arrested him...I was home..." She said softly.

"He was sitting on the couch, he knew they were coming...I was making some dinner," She said, she bit her lip. "They knocked on the door and when I opened it they just came storming in...Moonshine they shoved him down on the floor and cuffed him....I completely just...my whole world went crashing down."

He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, felt goosebumps on her arms despite the hot water. He shifted to sink them a little deeper into the tub. "Did ya know why? Did he tell you? Or..." He pulled her closer against him.

If he found it interesting that she said 'loved' in the past tense, he certainly didn't say so. Instead, he brushed his hand along her cheek, kissing her lightly. "I'm sorry, Rae. Sorry I wasn't there, sorry I didn't come sooner. Ya shouldn't a' had to do that alone."
