"I know you will," She said with a smile and then looped her arms around him from behind. He was so different than Spot, so caring and attentive.

He smiled to himself when she wrapped her arms around him. He never thought he'd have her, and if he ever considered it, he was sure he was going to have to fight for her. A part of him was glad Spot wasn't around to do anything about it.

Raven got herself some milk and then poured it into her coffee. She took a sip and sighed. "Delicious." She smiled at him and leaned against the counter.

He sipped from his mug, looking at her over the rim. "Have I told ya how pretty you are?" He smiled at her over his coffee.

He looked down at his mug at the question, lifting a shoulder. "Maybe once. Before I met you." He finished his coffee, taking his cup to the sink.

He turned around to look at her, leaning against the counter. "Her name was Sherri. High school sweethearts. Told me I wasn't good enough ta marry, so she left." He shrugged, acting like it was no big deal, but the corner of his mouth turned down.

Raven bit her lip and then rested her hand on top of his, "I'm sorry." She said and really meant it. That had to hurt. "You didn't deserve that."

He turned his hand over to link his fingers with her. He shrugged again. "What're ya gonna do, ya know. She didn't want me bad enough. Woulda' made her happy, though. If she'd let me." He gave her a small smile. "See. Told ya we had a lot in common."
