Raven rolled her eyes. "Oh yes, they are all so pure and nice. No wonder why Jack tossed me out all those years ago..." she sighed dramatically.

"You were a corrupting influence!" Race shook his head at her, smirking, as they turned the corner of Duane Street. "C'mon, someone's gotta be home. And if not, we can always just raid the girls' bunkroom..."

She was actually kind of excited to be going to the lodging house for a little while, she missed everyone. Her house was always extremely quiet during the day and at night it was just her and Spot.
Rae would rather have just the two of them than the entirely of the Brooklyn Lodging House but sometimes she missed all the excitement.
"Someone better be, though Kloppman might not let me in," She said with a laugh.

"He'll let you in," Race predicted. "Everyone's nice to pregnant ladies. 'Sides, old Kloppy's getting on in years, he might not even remember you," he said as they climbed the steps.
"Is that Raven? Does Cowboy know you're darkening our doorstep again, girl?"
"Ooor I could be wrong about that," Race admitted as Kloppman leaned over his desk, gave them a gruff look, and then impatiently motioned them inside.

"Hi Kloppman and don't worry I ain't staying," she smiled at the old man and then turned to Race.
"Won't remember me huh?"

"He never remembers any of the rent I owe him," Race said defensively as they headed upstairs.
"Or I'm just resigned to the fact that I'll never see a cent of it!" Kloppman called up from the lobby.
Race started. "Kloppman, shouldn't your hearing be getting a little rusty, at least?"
The only answer was a dark chuckle that suggested that Kloppman's hearing would never get rusty because Kloppman was basically God. Race shook his head, kind of afraid, and led Rae down the hall to the girls' bunkroom. "Hey, anyone in there?"
((Hmm, should we invite someone else in, or should I bring in Wraith? ;D))

Raven laughed as she plodded her way up the stairs, she frowned. "This was way easier when I was carrying a living thing inside me."
When they reached the bunkroom she peered inside. "Where the hell is everyone? Oh my God, Race! It happened! Cowmaggedon!"

((I had a better idea. ;D))
As Race laughed at the three-year-old inside joke, a scowling face emerged from beneath the covers of one of the bunks. When Macbeth saw the two figures standing in the doorway, she groaned and went back to reading her book. "Oh, perfect," she muttered. "Wonderful. Of course."
Race grinned at the sight of her. "Macbeth! Good to see you looking all...sober."
In response, Beth flung her book at him. He ducked, and it hit the wall behind him. Race picked it up and examined it. "Sorry, Rae, not a romance novel. Just that boring Shakespeare guy."
Macbeth just kind of growled.

Macbeth snorted and held out her hands. Race tossed her the book, and she caught it. "The romance novels are under Tag's pillow," she snapped, just to get them out of here so they would leave her in peace. "She won't care, she's in the hospital. And if either of you sees Risk, punch him in the face."
Race blinked. "Uh...I prob'ly won't do that, but...thanks."

"why's Tag in the hospital? She sick or get hurt?" Raven asked as she headed over to Tag's bunk to borrow a romance novel. "And I will gladly punch him in the face." Raven smirked at her.
She lifted Tag's pillow and rifled through the books until she came acroos, The Wanton Waif, she shrugged and decided she'd give it a go.
"What did Risk do? Though I know it don't take much to piss you off."

"Pneumonia, I guess. I hear she's getting better, though. And feel free to find that out for me after you punch him," Beth muttered. "I don't know what he did, I'm guessing either Mob connections or serial killing. He's full of secrets and lies, and someone needs to just beat it all out of him, and unfortunately, I'm not up to the job." She was actually in here waiting for Ershey to get home so she could talk to her about Risk. It was about time she found out once and for all that her brother wasn't trustworthy.
Race looked from Beth to Raven. "Secrets and lies? You mean that he's Ershey's long-lost brother?"
Beth chuckled darkly. "So you know about that? That's just the tip of the iceberg."
Race pondered that as he looked over Rae's shoulder at the book she'd found. "Looks like a good one," he said mischievously.

"I know I can't wait for the erotica." She sighed happily and pressed the book to her chest.
"Listen, all men lie and tell you what you wanna hear to make you feel nice or whatever. After awhile they start showing their true colors. Lure it out of it. Don't be all grr I'm scary Macbeth and I will hurt you. Do it nicely, act like you wanna get in bed with him and he'll tell you everything." Raven smirked at her.

Beth snorted. "Too bad that'd only work if he was blind or drunk." She looked thoughtful for a second. "Though he is drunk about half the time..."
"Well, there you go," Race said with a laugh. "We'll leave you to your book, m'lady."
A pillow hit him in the face for that. He smirked and guided Raven and her dirty novel safely out of the bunkroom. "Seriously, though, there is something about that Risk guy," he said. "He is Ershey's brother, apparently, but Mush don't like him. And Mush likes everyone! You don't know him, do you, Rae?"
((Muahaha))
