Goblin came into the hospital with a messenger bag slung over his shoulder. It was squirming and mewing a bit, but he managed to disguise that fact. Within ten minutes, he had the lady at the desk convinced that he was Lillian Wellsley's brother who had been out of town until now and had just heard about her illness. She directed him to the right room, and he stuck his head in cautiously. "Hey, Tag. You awake?"

Tag jumped a bit, dropping the book she'd been reading on her lap and losing her place. Her eyes immediately darted over to the opening door; she was even more surprised to see Goblin there than she had been to suddenly hear a voice.
"Goblin? Wh-what are you doing here?" And why is the bag slung over your shoulder moving?

"Well, you've been here a while, I thought you might want to see..." Before he could finish, Lizzie made a heroic leap out of the bag, bounded over to Tag's bed, and jumped up beside her. "She's been following me around meowing," Goblin explained apologetically.

A smile immediately appeared on Tag's face as Lizzie nuzzled into her hand. She scooped her up and cuddled her, kissing her nose.
"Oh, Goblin. Thank you so much!"

"No problem." He perched on the chair by her bed. "How've you been?" He hadn't seen her in ages. It would be nice to chat with someone who had no idea that he'd recently helped kill a man, been in and out of the Refuge, and gotten caught up in a doubtless ill-fated romance with the most determined girl he'd ever met.

"Well," Tag chuckled, shrugging. "Just a bit of pneumonia is all."
She had been in the hospital for a little over a week, and she was feeling so much better; hopefully, she was going to be getting out of here soon.

"Well, you haven't missed much," Goblin said with a bit of a smirk as Lizzie bounded over to the edge of the bed and he scratched her behind the ears. "Ershey's found her long-lost brother, Blink's seeing the mayor's daughter, Jack seems to be falling for my childhood enemy, Tara, who goes to boarding school on the Upper West Side...you know, the usual."

Tag bit back a smile, though she wasn't very successful, at the mention of Blink and the mayor's daughter.
"I got this job at an alterations shop not too long ago, and it turns out Miss Van Wyck is a regular customer. Her old seamstress got married and moved away, and I took her place. She's actually the reason I'm here and not slowly dying in the lodging house infirmary... But she visits me often and when she's not talking about galas and dresses, she's talking about Blink."
That was probably the most Tag had ever said to anyone she didn't know extremely well.

Goblin chuckled, impressed by the long speech. He'd never really talked to Blink and only caught glimpses of Kathryn; he just made it his business to keep tabs on everyone from a distance. "All these classy girls hobnobbing with newsies, who'd've thought it? You know, you should hang out with my sister sometime," he said thoughtfully. "She doesn't usually say much either. And I'm pretty sure she's been, uh...borrowing your books."
Lizzie, meanwhile, lost interest in Goblin and went to curl up under Tag's chin.

"My...books? Which ones?" Tag didn't own that many books; but the few she did own were ones the librarian had told her to just keep, for no one checked them out except her. A Lover's Secret was one of them.
To keep herself calm, she ran a hand down Lizzie's back, feeling her purring wildly.

"I don't really know, you'll have to ask Wraith," he said innocently. "I can tell her to put 'em back if you want."

"No, that's quite all right. She can borrow my books as much as she wants," Tag replied, blushing and avoiding his gaze. She just hoped Wraith didn't divulge the contents of said books to anyone. Especially Goblin or Specs...or any boy.

"Don't worry, she hasn't been sharing," he said with a grin. "Anything I can get you? Preferably not alive, it was hard enough getting her in here."

Tag couldn't help but chuckle; boys were all the same. Every newsboy that came to visit her had offered to get her whatever she wanted. It was quite sweet, actually.
"No, I'm fine, thank you. You've brought me quite enough already," she smiled at him, still stroking Lizzie absently.

He smiled back. "Just gonna warn you--if some nurse walks in, I have no idea where that cat came from. You're on your own. Oh, and also, we're brother and sister now."
