"But I have a plan!" retorted Risk, looking a bit hopeful.
"A plan, really?"

"Goblin... and Wraith?" repeated Ershey, her eyes wide as she held onto Mush's hand. She'd been approached by those two before and that was what started everything. Sure, she was glad that Ericson was gone but now, they were running from the law. Well, more specifically, her brother.
"I've got it covered. Nothing'll happen to you too, I swear," said Risk confidently. "I won't let them find you."

Ershey looked at Risk, wide-eyed. He was willing to go through all of that for her?

Mush wasn't sure if he trusted Risk, especially now. What if he was lying, and he did end up turning them in?
He looked from Ershey to Risk, noticing Ershey looked like she believed him. And she knew him better than anyone...

"Well, thanks for letting us know," said Ershey pointedly, still quite unsure about what to make of Risk's confessions. She tugged on Mush's hand, desperate to leave. It was too much information in one sitting and she wanted some space... away from her brother.

Risk stood in place, watching them go and confused as to whether what just happened was a good thing or not. Ershey, however, led Mush to the attic. Once inside, she pulled him close for a tight hug, as she buried her face on his shoulder.

"What just happened?" she muttered, feeling her sanity go out the window. She hated Alec... yet at the same time she wanted to hug him. But he went undercover... as a cop, so he lied... but he came back to find her...

Mush wasn't sure if this was a rhetorical question or not. "Well... Risk just told us he's an undercover cop..." he started, figuring if Ershey hadn't meant the question to be answered, she would stop him there.
