He glanced over at her, appreciating the virtues of liquid courage. "Had a thing for a girl who already had 'er sights on somebody. Tried to win 'er over, took 'er out and everything." He took a healthy gulp of his whiskey. "It didn't work."

"M-maybe she liked a...another kind of person," Wraith suggested politely, noticing that her glass was empty and her head was spinning. She rested it on her arms. Liquor always made her both talkative and sleepy. "It...it might not be personal, y'know..."
((Sleepy time! The Goblin/Risk thread should hopefully be ready for everyone else to jump in sometime tomorrow. ^_^))

He smirked. "Rejection's always personal, Sugar." He finished his drink, angling back towards her. "What about you? What's yer story?"
((Yay! Night!))

Oh, I'm a one-time whore and three-time murderer who only falls in love with other girls and stalks people in her spare time. No, she wasn't that drunk yet. She shrugged and answered drowsily. "I live at the Duane Street house with my brother...m-my sweetheart was from Brooklyn...there's not much to tell, really."

He brightened at that. "Hey, me too! Been there just a few weeks, though. How come I ain't seen ya around?" He shrugged. "Well, I guess ya were in Brooklyn, huh."

"Sometimes," she admitted, smiling as the alcohol took its effect and cheered her up a bit. "Also, I hide." She waved her hand for another drink that she couldn't pay for. She was actually going to run up a tab at this point.

"Here, I got this one, Sugar." He nodded at the bartender to put the rest of her drinks on his tab, and ordered himself another whiskey. "What d'ya hide from?" He angled himself towards her again so he could get a better look at her.

"Boys," said Wraith, giving him a look and wrapping her arms around herself. "Everyone." Except the few people she trusted. If only Tris were here to carry her home again.

"What are ya so scared of, Wraith?" He tilted his head at her, a little fascinated by the pretty little drunk girl in front of him so seemed to be terrified of the universe.

By now, she could feel the beer hitting her every time she swallowed it. Any more after this and she would pass out. Maybe that was for the best; she could only imagine what this Moonshine expected from her after paying for her drink. Her hand strayed to her pocket, where she still kept a deadly little blade. "What's not to be scared of? Everything's...everything's just...you're always on your own, even when you start thinking you're not."

Moonshine shook his head. "That ain't always true. Some people are gonna be out to get ya, sure. But most of us are alright." He took another drink. He had the distinct understanding that he was gonna have to carry this girl home.

"Sometimes," she admitted. "I think...maybe newsies are better than most people...even when they're not newsies..." She was thinking of Risk. "I dunno, I just...I just want..." And suddenly a familiar face popped into her head, complete with a bright smile and fiery red hair. "I want to see my friend. Can you help me find her?" She wobbled to her feet and looked at him pitifully.

He got of his stool quickly, catching her when she looked like she was about to fall over. "Sugar, I dunno if you're in any shape to go trackin' people down." He put his hands lightly on her arms, being gentle. God, she was tiny.

Her eyes just about doubled in size. "Please? She lives uptown...I know I can make it...I used to live there." She pulled away from him and walked toward the door to demonstrate. She was not walking in anything resembling a straight line, but at least she was walking.

Moonshine groaned inwardly. He really shouldn't be getting involved in what was sure to be drama, but he couldn't very well let the girl wander off. He took a few long strides to catch up to her, taking hold of her arm. "You sure about this, Wraith? It's late. And you're drunk"
