"Let's get two of those," he nodded at the bartender. "It's a whiskey sort of day. Why not?"

"Excellent choice, if I may say so myself," Nate replied gleefully before giving his new friend a quick pat on the back of his shoulder. "Nothin' like a good whiskey to help you unwind after a long day."

"I agree," he chuckled, grabbing his glass and taking a sip. "So what else do you do? Other than fix things?"

"At the moment, not much else," Nate replied casually before taking a sip of his whiskey. "Trying to keep myself occupied with that, you know?" He stopped and looked around the room slowly. He could get used to this place. "I dunno, maybe I'll let this place start to take up a little bit more of my time. What is there to do around here anymore, anyway, other than come here?"

Risk shrugged. "Not much, really. If we're not sellin', we're sleepin'... or gettin' into trouble. It's mostly the trouble part though."

"That's what I was afraid you'd say," he said with an almost-nervous laugh. "I'm not the trouble making type, sorry to say." He shook his head slowly, laughing at how much he sounded like an old man. "I'm a boring old man, what can I say?"

"You're not old," laughed Risk, shaking his head at him. "You're drinking whiskey with me. You can't possibly be old." He turned to watch the stage as he saw a couple girls get ready for the night. "Got a girl, Nate?"

"Me?" Nate asked with a shake of his head. "Nah, not anymore." His voice trailed off as he took a longer drink from his glass. "I haven't for a few years now.... What about you? Any special lady in your life, or was that her back at the house?"

"Not anymore? What happened? I mean, if you don't mind me asking..." he smirked but was suddenly caught off guard by Nate's question. "Uh, what? Macbeth?"

"Yeah, her," Nate replied with a smirk, trying his best to avoid answering Risk's question about his last girlfriend. "She kinda seemed to be giving you the girlfriend voice back there..."

"The girlfriend voice?! What does that mean?" said Risk in confusion. He'd dated girls before but he'd never had a real girlfriend, so he didn't catch Nate's reference.

Nate laughed a little more and set his glass down on top of the bar. "Okay, okay," he began, "the girlfriend voice is when your girl gets really angry or annoyed with you for some reason, usually one that doesn't make any sense. Anyway, it's just the way she says things, in her tone and such."
He leaned back on the stool just a bit and picked his whiskey back up, taking another sip. He couldn't believe that he was actually thinking this, but he found that he was actually starting to miss hearing the girlfriend voice! As annoying as it was, he was actually starting to miss it.

"...But I thought that was just Macbeth's way of telling me things," said Risk blankly. Then again, other than Ershey and Macbeth, he didn't really spend time with any other girls. "Do you know that voice so well 'cause of your ex girlfriend?"

"That, good sir, I do," Nate answered, a hint of amusement on his face. "It was always for stupid things. 'Nate! You got the wrong kind of apple!' 'Nate! Where did my hairbow go?' Always things that, as a guy, you don't really think about." He paused and exhaled slowly, staring at the remaining contents of his glass. "You know, I never knew there was more than one kind of apple."

"I don't think there's supposed to be," chuckled Risk, shaking his head at him. "Are you talking about that nagging voice? I thought all girls have that... not just girlfriends."
