Moonshine had showered and dressed as nice as he could in preparation of his date with Rose.
He had stopped at a florist's stand on his way to her house, so he had a bouquet of pink roses in his hand when he knocked on her front door.
He fidgeted, nervous. The night needed to go well.

Rose had been watching the street from her attic bedroom window, waiting to see Whiskey walking toward her house. She wanted to answer the door as soon as possible so her grandmother wouldn't. So, about two seconds after he knocked, Rose opened the door and quickly stepped outside, shutting the door behind her
"Hi," she said with a small smile. "You look nice."

He blinked at her, caught off guard by her rush to get out. "I, uh, thanks. You too." He gave her a crooked smile, holding out the roses to her.

Rose bit her lip as she took the flowers from him. "Normally I would say you didn't have to, but I think this time you did," she said with a quick wink. She re-opened the door, set them on a small table on the foyer, then shut the door again. "So, where are we going?"
((I'm heading off to bed!))

((Night!))
"Uh, well, we're actually goin' back to the House." He held his hand out for her. The last time he'd tried to impress a girl, he'd gone for the roof and Script's brownies. This time, it was too cold to be outside, and Script was in the Refuge. So, Moonshine was on his own.

She took his hand, lacing her fingers with his. "Let's go then," she said softly, looking into his eyes.

He smiled down at her, bringing her hand to his lips to kiss it. He led her back to the House, not really saying much, but the silence didn't feel awkward. When he let her inside, he led her upstairs. "We're goin' to the attic again."

"Okay," she replied genially. She was actually pretty excited to see what he'd cooked up for tonight. She followed him up a few flights of stairs, passing some newsies on the way. Once they reached the attic, Rose waited for him to pull down the ladder, her hands clasped behind her back.

He pulled the ladder down. "Wait her just a second, okay? I'll tell ya when to come up." He took a minute to kiss her, giving her a nervous grin, then clamored up the ladder. After a minute, he called down, "Alright, Rosie. Come on up."
He had a picnic set up in the attic. He figured that he'd give the whole picnic idea another shot. He thought it was pretty genius and was still kind bitter Kathyn hadn't fallen for it. He had a couple fat candles lit, and had made sandwiches and brought up wine. The only thing missing was brownies, but he'd bought cookies at the bakery from down the block.

Once Rose's head was above the attic floor as she climbed the ladder, she paused for a bit, taking in the scene before her.
"Wow," she said, nodding, obviously impressed. "Nice work, Whiskey." She climbed the rest of the way up and sat down on the floor, careful not to knock over the candles nearby.

Moonshine grinned at her, pleased with himself. He pulled the ladder up and closed the trap door. "Yeah? Ya like it?" He led her to the blanket spread on the floor, sitting down with her.

"It's very romantic, that's for sure," Rose replied, a half-smirk playing at her lips. "I told you you could come up with something." She nudged his side playfully with her elbow.

He grinned at her, blushing a little. "I tried real hard. Made the turkey sandwiches myself." He offered her one.

Rose gasped, teasing. "Oh my! And you cook, too." She smirked before taking a bite, nodding as she chewed.

Moonshine snorted, but couldn't hide his blush. He pinched her hip playfully, pouring them both glasses of wine -- into tumblers of course, because they were classy like that.
