Rose stood up and wrapped her towel around her in a flash, grabbing her clothes. She was embarrassed and uncomfortable almost to the point of tears. Why did she think it would be a good idea to take a bath here?! Her grandmother had a perfectly nice, private bathtub at home.

He glanced back at her, and his face fell when he saw the look on her face. "Baby...baby, I'm sorry, Sugar. I didn't mean--" He crossed the distance between them and gathered her into his arms.

Rose didn't return his embrace, but only because she kept her hands on her towel, making sure it stayed up. She no longer knew how to feel; she was embarrassed, yes, but she was also kind of relieved. Now, when she eventually did have sex with him, he wouldn't be seeing her naked for the first time. That should make her less nervous, right?
