"I could've snagged some whiskey from Irving Hall, y'know. All you had to do was ask," she informed him, shrugging. She took her glass of wine from him and sipped it, thinking it complemented the turkey sandwich very well.

"Well, it's a real date, not just a night hangin' out." He sent her a smile, sipping his own wine and munching his sandwich.

"Tell me, Whiskey. In your book, what does a 'real date' mean?" She set down her sandwich and turned to face him full on, staring at him with wide eyes.

He shifted under her gaze. When she looked at him like that, it always made him a little nervous. "Well, uh, it's when we do somethin' nice, and I get ya flowers and stuff..."

She pursed her lips, quirking an eyebrow. "And stuff? Come on, give me details! I'll tell you about my version of a 'real date.'"

He shifted again. "Well, I guess a real date is me gettin' to know ya. You gettin' to know me. Me doin' something ya like, even if I don't like it, because I know it'll make ya happy."

"Do you not like picnics, Whiskey?" she asked, tilting her head to the side a bit. How could someone not like picnics?!

He grinned. "I like picnics when they're with pretty girls. I don't really like wine."

She smiled, looking down at her lap briefly before looking up at him again. "I don't really, either..."

He blinked, then started laughing, leaning over and kissing her. "Well, then I guess I really suck at this date thing."

She kissed him again, smirking against his lips. "No, you don't," she whispered. She could feel her cheeks flushing a bit as she pressed her forehead against his.

Moonshine smiled, moving their glasses aside before gathering her up against him. "I don't?"

"My version of a 'real date' is when a guy makes me feel like I'm the only other person in the whole world. Well, that's what I always thought one would be like," she told him, still whispering and still blushing. "And right now, I'd have to say, you've been successful..."

He sent her a slow smile, kissing the corner of her mouth. "You are the only other person in the world, Rosie. The only one that matters, anyway."

She buried her face in the crook of his neck briefly before pulling away, her face red. "Well, the night's still young. Let's hope you keep it up." She reached for her sandwich, eating more before she could laugh awkwardly and nervously.
