"Yeah, good," he replied with a nod. He didn't remember his dreams, as usual. He spotted a couple newsies selling in the park, so glad Script had talked him into not doing it.
((sorry, my mom roped me into making a salad for dinner and now we're watching our soap! Lol))

((Haha, no problem))
She followed his gaze, seemingly reading his mind as she grinned up at him. "Playing hooky today was a much better idea than selling. And thinking of the zoo was a stroke of genius." She bumped his arm with hers playfully.

"Like I said yesterday, I come up with good ideas from time to time," he said, bumping her arm right back.

"That's true, you did say that. Well, you're two for two, Skitts. Good job." She stopped walking long enough to go on her toes to kiss him lightly, then looped her arm in his as they walked the rest of the way to he zoo.

Skittery didn't say much as they walked. He was thinking that she was being awfully affectionate. She was sort of acting like his girlfriend... Or was he just being paranoid?

For her part, Script was just being Script. She felt normal around him, and normal was good. She moved away from him as they reached the ticket booth, buying her own ticket without asking.

He bought his ticket after her, shooting the ticket lady a charming smile. He joined Script behind the gate and gazed around. "What should we go see first?"

Without missing a beat, she said, "Monkeys! They're my favorite." She headed off in that direction, bouncing a bit as she walked, her hair bobbing around her.

He chuckled to himself, following her to the monkey enclosure. "Why monkeys? Just 'cause they're cute?"

"Why else? They're adorable! And funny to watch." She skipped over to one of the enclosures, leaning on the railing to watch the chimpanzees.

Skittery leaned against the gate next to her, watching them. "Y'know, chimps aren't actually monkeys, they're apes."

She blinked, glancing over at him. She was pretty sure she'd learned that in a science class when she went to school, but how did he know that?? "I think I knew that." She regarded him curiously. "You weren't always a street kid, were you." It was more of a statement than a question.

"Well, not always, no. But I do like to spend some time in the library every now and then..." he admitted with a non-chalant shrug.

She turned to lean back against the rail, grinning up at him. "Well, I'll be damned. Skittery is a smarty-pants."

"The library has good art books. I like art, okay?" He was blushing a little, not looking down at her but watching the chimps instead.
