She laughed, reaching over and taking his glass from him. "Then give it to me! No sense in wasting it." She gulped down the rest before he could stop her.

"Hey!" he laughed, reaching over to grab the empty glass back. "I think maybe it's time we head out," he suggested, standing up and leaning on the bar so he wouldn't fall over.

She nodded, hopping off the stool, then laughing as she stumbled, holding onto the front of his shirt for support. "I might have had too much, I think."

"You might have," he said, laughing right along with her. He put his arm around her waist and stumbled out, still laughing though he had no idea why.

She held onto him as they stumbled their way home, her cheeks flushed from the alcohol. She snuggled against his side a bit, guarding herself from the chill of the evening. "We were in there a long time."

"Yeah, well, we drank a lot," he pointed out, walking in a zig-zag line down the sidewalk.

She blushed, but smiled up at him. "We did, didn't we. I don't usually do that, ya know."

He smiled back down at her, tripping over a crack in the sidewalk and laughing. Once he'd recovered a bit, he squeezed her to him. "But now that you're a lone wolf, you can do it again if you want to. You can do whatever you want!"

She sighed dreamily, arm sliding around his waist as they neared the House. "I've never really done a whole lot of that."

"Boy, am I glad I walked in on you crying in the kitchen. You needed a change in lifestyle," he said, shaking his head. He opened the door, ushering her inside.

She stumbled into the parlor, flopping onto the couch. "I'm kinda embarrassed you saw me crying in the kitchen."

"Hey, no, don't be embarrassed," he said, flopping right down next to her, propping his feet up on the coffee table. "I'm sure ya had a really good reason."

She shook her head. "I did, but I don't wanna talk about it. It's over." She angled herself towards him, laying back on the couch, resting her head on the arm because it felt heavy. She looked up at him, smiling a little. He was an excellent distraction.
