As soon as she spotted them, Macbeth joined them and motioned for them to follow her. "I know a shortcut," she muttered, glancing over her shoulder to ensure that they weren't being followed. "A shortcut home," she clarified with a quick, ironic glance at Risk.

"'Cause this one wanted to," he replied, nodding at Macbeth as he ushered the both of them far from the headquarters and following Macbeth close behind. It wasn't until they arrived at Manhattan that he could breath a sigh of relief.

Macbeth glanced at Gypsy and shrugged. "Felt bad," she muttered. "We got in too deep and didn't have much of a fucking choice about bringing you here, but I thought we might as well get you out." She still didn't know who the hell this girl was, but at least she wouldn't be weighing on Beth's conscience anymore.

Macbeth suddenly felt sick. Seriously sick. Like, a hair's breadth away from having to stop and throw up. "I don't know any doctors," she muttered, "but we'll find someone."

Beth shrugged. "Compared to everything else we've done this week, it really wasn't no trouble." And she nodded to Gypsy and led Risk off in the direction of their apartment, ready to collapse into bed as soon as they got there. She didn't even have the energy to make tea.
