He stroked her hair, pressing his cheek against the top of her head. "Zip, I'm not gonna go anywhere. I dunno how good it'll be, but I swear I'll do my best and--and I'll learn, if you're willing to teach me. But no matter what, I'm not going anywhere."
He pulled back to look at her. "This will mean something. Because it's you. And you matter to me."

He nodded, then pressed a kiss to her forehead. "I've been waiting this long, I think I can manage to wait some more." Maybe. He felt like his insides were about to explode, but he would wait. Because she wanted to.

Zippy shrugged. "Eh, maybe. But it happens all the time. Spot and Rae had sex once when everyone was in the room sleeping. I had the bunk next to hers- it was worse than any nightmare I was having at the time."
