Wraith flushed and deepened the kiss, her skin tingling like there was an electric current running under it. Slowly and shyly, savoring every moment, she ran her fingers up Fire's arm, stroked back her hair, and trailed her fingertips lightly down her neck. Rain-spattered and wrapped in a sheet, Fire looked all the more beautiful, Wraith thought. And she smelled wonderful, and the curves of her body through the sheet...somehow, her hand was making its way very slowly down her neck, brushing the edge of the sheet, as she broke away from the kiss to give Fire a questioning look.

Fire's eyes slowly opened after the kiss ended, her lips still parted slightly. "What is it, Clara?" She asked softly, preferring to use Wraith's actual name. It just seemed right, a bit more personal during this moment where it was just the two of them, a quilt, and the darkness of the attic.
She ran her tongue over her lips slowly, moistening them, as she tried to decipher what the look on her companion's face meant.

Wraith could swear the temperature rose a little when Fire said her real name. Kennedy had never used it. "Just wondering if we might want to...unwind the sheets a little," she whispered a bit nervously, smiling nonetheless as her fingers brushed Fire's skin. She didn't know how far they would take this, and she didn't need to know yet--just as long as they were on the same page.

"Unwind the sheets?" Fire asked, her forehead wrinkling ever so slightly in confusion. After a moment, Wraith's words finally sank in and she immediately began to blush. "Oh!" She giggled, embarrassed.
"Well...." she thought it over briefly before nodding slowly. "Alright, but just a little." She reached for the knot that held her sheet together and loosened it a bit. Her heart started to pound in her chest as she did so.
She looked back up at Wraith and smiled playfully, "Just don't tell on me, okay?"

Wraith laughed at that, wondering who and what exactly she would tell. "I won't if you won't." Blushing just as brightly, she undid her own knot and let the sheet slip down till her chest was bare, then leaned in and kissed Fire again, her hand gently peeling Fire's sheet down so that she could touch her bare back. She just wanted the warmth of skin against skin as they kissed.

Fire's skin tingled under Wraith's fingertips. Her fingers traced lightly up Wraith's spine before her hands finally came to rest in the center of her back. Gently, she pulled the other girl closer as she returned the kiss.

Wraith let Fire pull her closer until they were practically entwined. She kissed her slowly and searchingly, her tongue parting Fire's lips while her fingernails trailed lightly up and down her back. When one of her legs touched Fire's, she almost squeaked, but managed to keep her cool as she twined their ankles together without breaking the kiss. She could hear the rain beating down on the roof, but they had definitely found a way to keep warm.

Fire's lips parted slowly, drawing Wraith's tongue gently into her mouth with her own. A soft sigh escaped her lips as her hands traveled along Wraith's back before coming to rest on the small of her back. She held onto the kiss for a moment longer before gently breaking it and lightly kissing the corner of the other girl's mouth. "I don't know about you, but I'm suddenly not so cold anymore," she whispered before gently nuzzling the side of her neck.

She laughed and rested her head on Fire's shoulder. "Me either." She pulled the quilt tighter around them, wrapping her arms around Fire and snuggling against her. And she had a sudden thought that if it weren't for her perpetually troublemaking brother, she would be perfectly happy right now. Even with all her worries about Sebastian, she almost was.

"I'm glad I found you tonight," Fire remarked as she nestled her head onto Wraith's shoulder. Her arms slipped around the girl's waist, holding her gently.
She laughed softly before lightly kissing along the other girl's jawline. "Only problem is that I don't think I'll want to leave the attic in the morning..."

"I know how you feel." Wraith smiled a little wistfully at her. "It'd be different if we could just...walk down the street holding hands, you know?" And so it came back to this, the same thing she'd gone through with Kennedy--constantly wondering what they really were to each other, what their relationship meant if no one else knew about it or blessed it. In the end, she and Kennedy had never even talked about it, never defined it at all, right up until the day when Kennedy ended it.

"If only we could, without needing the cover of darkness or an empty graveyard," Fire added sadly. She let out a soft sigh and allowed her head to rest lightly against Wraith's bare shoulder. "At least, up here, we can be ourselves while we're tucked away from the rest of the world. Once we go back down, we can't be real anymore..."
She remained silent for a moment, her hands lightly pressing against the small of the other girl's back. "Do you think there will ever be a time when people like us won't have to hide anymore?"
