"Great!" zippy replied, squeezing his hand. "Did you get a chance to work stuff out with your parents?"

That made him sigh. "Well, we talked, yeah..."

"Not good?" Zippy asked, frowning.

He sighed heavily. "They just...don't understand."

"Don't understand what, exactly?" Zippy sighed loudly. Were they really at this again? "did you tell them what you told me? About not wanting to graduate early because you are enjoying your time here?" She thought that was a good excuse, way better than that he doesnt want to leave his new girlfriend.

He nodded. "I told them all that. Told them how, even if I graduate early, I wanna stay in New York." He glanced at her as they walked. "They think I'm doing it for you."

Zippy sighed. Well she didnt really want to be a part of Davey's family anyway. Too much pressure. Now she can just be with david and have nothing to worry about. "I'm sorry, david," she said finally, looking at him. "They'll come around."

He squeezed her hand, nodding, looking a little skeptical. "I hope so. I told them you weren't going anywhere." He opened the restaurant door for her as they arrived.

Well Zippy hoped that was true. They walked into the pizza parlor, and took a seat at a nearby both. "You should take the time though to figure out what you truly wanna do. So when they ask, you'll have something to tell them. Goals and stuff."

He sighed, sliding in beside her. "But I'm still not sure yet. I can't just pick something because. I wanna do something I like."

"Then find something you like. Visit doctors, attorneys, bankers...interview them. Ask them questions. Dave, your parents are going to think I screwed up your whole life. You have to show them that this isn't the case," Zippy placed her hand on his thigh.

He nodded, brows knitted as he looked down at the tabletop. "They're not gonna blame you, Zip. I don't want anything to do with them if they are."

"I don't like when you talk like that. It makes me uncomfortable," Zippy confessed, with a long sigh. If she still had a family, she wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.

He shook his head. "What am I supposed to do? If they can't support me and my decisions, then what's the point?"

"The point is that there's always another way, David. Don't give up." Zippy reached for the menu.
