((...now my mind is just exploring the epic bromance between Monk Eastman and David Oswald. What is wrong with me. ^_^))
Goblin stared right back at Sammie. He was shocked by what they'd just heard, but it seemed to have put her completely out of commission. Which meant that this was all on him. Eastman had just closed the door behind Oswald. He hadn't turned around yet. Goblin pulled out the pistol, aimed, and fired.
And then far too many things happened at once.
Eastman collapsed on the floor, wounded but still alive, and fumbled for his gun. The door opened, and Oswald burst inside again--his gun was already out, and he was shooting. Goblin threw himself at Sammie and pushed her to the floor, ducking under the hail of bullets as he returned Oswald's fire. There were bullets everywhere, and he had no idea what was happening, and then one side of his body seemed to explode, and he was bleeding and confused and bleeding a lot and barely conscience.
And someone's gun was pointed at him again, and he closed his eyes, and the voice of someone who couldn't possibly be there whispered, "M'chol li." Followed by more shots, and finally...silence.
((Yep. I did that.))

Everything happened too fast. The last thing Sammie knew (or thought through without acting) was that Eastman was her father. Then, there were bullets flying everywhere and she was on the floor. Her instincts kicked in once Goblin shot Eastman and he fell to the floor. A blur of Riddle came bursting in, shooting at Oswald as Sammie grabbed her gun (hey, she had to be prepared too) and shot back, leaving him injured and unconscious on the floor.
Then it was quiet.
Eastman was bleeding and on the floor. Oswald was writhing and trying to survive. It was then that her eyes bulged when she saw an unconscious Riddle on the floor. It seemed as if Oswald had good aim too.
"Sebastian," she breathed, trying to figure out where he was. She turned around, panic rising once she saw him on the floor and bleeding. "Shit, shit, shit... Sebastian!" His shoulder was badly shot but she figured he'd survive it. He fucking better.
With whatever energy she had left, she took his good arm and put it around her shoulder, dragging him towards the door and stopping by Riddle. She quickly checked her pulse and gulped when she realized there wasn't any.
What the fuck just happened?

Goblin stumbled after Sammie in a fog, leaning on her heavily. He had no idea what was going on. There wasn't a gun in his hand anymore, his ears were ringing, and his shoulder hurt like hell. But there was something else at the edge of his mind, crying out for his attention.
There had been someone else in the room. Him, Sammie, Eastman, Oswald, and someone else...who had whispered something in...Hebrew?
"Where's Lena?" he asked weakly, looking around. And when he saw her, he pulled away from Sammie and collapsed beside her, shaking her arm, whispering something inaudible, even though it was clearly not going to help.

"Sebastian, we can't do anything," said Sammie sternly, grabbing his arm and pulling him away from her. "We have to go before anyone sees us and we get thrown in jail. We have to go now."

He didn't seem to hear her for a precious few moments. He just stared at Riddle, at the blood pooling under her chest. "How did she even...?" he whispered, but that was obvious. She'd found some back entrance or unguarded window while they were watching the house. She'd been planning this, of course, from the moment he told her they were leaving her behind. Riddle always had a plan.
He was pretty sure she'd saved his life, and he couldn't even remember her last words.
Then Sammie's tugging and yelling finally registered, and he turned away from Riddle with a blank expression. "All right," he muttered, letting her support him again as he half-staggered out of the office, heading for the door as fast as he could under the circumstances. Anything to get away from that room.

"We just need to get out of here," she muttered, wishing that she'd found another way to escape. They very well couldn't leave through the front door looking like this. It was then that she heard a clamor and feet running. Looks like they were going to make it out the front door with everyone distracted by the dead bodies in Eastman's office.
She buried thoughts of Eastman as her father and carefully led Goblin down the stairs and out the door, the cold breeze hitting their faces once they were outside.

He winced at the cold wind against his shoulder, made it as far as the alley where the three of them had hidden last night, and then collapsed as his head spun. His shoulder was bleeding furiously, and pressing on it didn't seem to do much good. "You...you think you could maybe...find a cab?" He could only hope the cabbies around here didn't ask a lot of questions. Because there was no way he'd be walking home like this; he couldn't walk a block like this.
And it didn't help that the book Lena was reading last night was still lying open on the ground a few feet away.

"Don't let anyone find you," said Sammie, shooting him a look before she ran off towards the end of the block and waved off a cab. Luckily, there was one just passing by and she immediately hopped in, led him to where Goblin was and ushered him inside as quick as she could. She hoped no one was following them or even saw them leave. She wanted this whole thing to be over.

Goblin stuck Riddle's book in his pocket before they got into the cab. Even in his dizzy and delirious state, he knew it was stupid, but at least it was something.
He wasn't even sure where they were going, or whether Sammie had any idea how to help him not bleed to death, but he couldn't wonder about those things for long--he passed out minutes after the carriage set off.

They were back in the lodging house in no time. She egged the driver on, rushing him as he drove (almost ready to bring out her gun but she knew that that was a bad idea). She didn't know where else to go. If they went to the hospital, it'd definitely raise some questions.
She immediately paid the driver, jumping off the cab and shaking Sebastian awake. "Sebastian, you can't drift off now..." she muttered angrily as she tried to pull him off of his seat. They were right in front of the lodging house and almost gone. She hoped to hell someone saw them, anyone, even if it meant it was Risk or Macbeth. They just had to get inside and Sebastian would be alright. Or so she hoped.

Cav was just coming downstairs, and he stopped in his tracks when he saw Sammie and Goblin come through the door. "What the--" He nearly jumped down the rest of the way, rushing over and grabbing hold of the other side of Goblin. "What the fuck happened?!"

Goblin, who had barely managed to wake up enough for Sammie to get him that far, was definitely not in a state to answer that question. He was only vaguely aware of where he was at the moment. And the only thing on his mind--besides the image of Lena and the blood--was a vague urge to find his sister.
