She laughed and rolled off of him, grabbing his shirt and putting it on her, buttoning it half-way. "We're terrible at gift-giving. We can't keep anything a surprise." She moved to the closet, rummaging around, then came back with two boxes -- on rectangular and one small and square.

She kissed him back, smiling. "Now this one." She handed him the smaller box. Inside was a locket on a pin. On the locket was a fancy letter 'G', and in the locket was a picture of her on one side, and the other side was empty.

"We'll put a picture of the baby there, eventually. You can pin it on the inside of your shirt or jacket or somethin'." She looked at him, meeting his eyes. "So ya always remember who you gotta come home to. It'll keep ya safe."
