"Believe it or not I'm used to it now," She said with a laugh but handed him a bag anyways. "You sure you don't mind taking Sean?" She always felt bad about bringing Sean, he wasn't Nate's responsibility after all.

"Nah, I don't mind it at all," Nate replied with a quick shake of his head. He hoisted the bag over his shoulder and laughed, pretending that it weighed his whole body down. "For such a little guy, he's got a lot of luggage!"
Pausing, Nate shrugged casually. "In all seriousness, Rae, I don't mind it at all. I like having Sean around. He's a good kid." Granted, he was still small and that made him a 'good kid' by default, but that didn't change Nate's opinion in the slightest.

"Well he's got everything in there, his diapers, a change of clothes, a bottle. The necessities for a one year old." Raven said with a shrug. "So where are we going?" She asked as they left the bunk room.

"It's a surprise," Nate answered with a grin. "All I will say is that we're lucky it's nice out today, or else I'd have to think of something else for the three of us to do." He walked out of the bunkroom and down the hallway towards the staircase. He glanced over his shoulder at the two of them and smiled. "I think you two will love it."

"Now you've really got me intrigued." she smiled at him and then slipped her hand into his. She was getting more and more comfortable around Nate, but she was still confused about her feelings. She didn't know if she liked him as a friend or more. Time would tell she supposed.

Nate's hand closed gently around Rae's, squeezing it. "As you should be," he laughed.
He walked down the stairs with her, his smile growing. He was starting to get used to the idea of letting another girl in his life. Sure, it was still proving to be difficult for him at times and he still had to convince himself that it was okay for him to move on, but it was still easier than he had originally thought. April would've wanted this, he reminded himself. This didn't make him a bad guy! No, not at all.

"Well, for starters, we're taking the trolley uptown," he began with a grin. He opened the door, waiting for her to walk through befoe exiting the lodging house. "We'll get off at Central Park. And theeeeeen....."
He paused, his smile growing. "We're going to the zoo."

"no! Really? Oh man Sean is going to love that. Seany were going to the zoo! We're gonna see all the animals." she kissed her sons cheek and Sean smiled.
"fanfs," Sean said.
Raven grinned like crazy, smiling up at Nate. God he was the nicest man in the world.

"I know it's not ideal since it's not the summer or anything," Nate began with a small shrug, "but it's still a nice day. Why not go while it's nice?" He paused, his cheeks turning a slight shade of pink. "Plus... I kind of just really wanted to go to the zoo."
He led them down the sidewalk towards the trolley route and carefully adjusted the weight of the bag on his shoulder "Have you ever taken him up that way, towards the zoo?"

"No it's kind of far and sometimes he can be a handful ya know?" Raven explained. When they reached the trolly stop she waited patiently with Sean for it to arrive. "It's easier with two people."

"I guess you're lucky you've got an extra set of hand today then," he remarked playfully, shooting her a wide grin. Nate set the bag down by his feet, giving his shoulder a rest as they waited for the trolley.
"It shouldn't be too much longer." He held out his hand, briefly taking hers for a moment. "I'm glad you and Sean are coming with me today. I haven't gone up to see the animals in the longest time."

"This is really sweet of you, I mean it. We're gonna have a great time." She pressed a gentle kiss to Nate's cheek. Sean was being a very good little boy too, smiling and waving at everyone who passed by.
The trolley soon arrived and the three of them got on. "Sean look, we're heading uptown." She said, pointing out the window. Sean pressed his hand to the glass with wide eyes and squealed.

Nate couldn't help but smile as he watched Sean's reactions to almost everything. The kid was adorable, there was no denying that. "I think he's almost as excited as I am," he commented jokingly as he let his head rest playfully on Rae's shoulder.

"He gets really excited about things which makes me excited. He's honestly made me a much nicer and happier person," She said with a laugh, smoothing back Sean's blonde hair tenderly. He looked back at his mother and pointed. "MA!"
"I know, we're going so fast," She glanced down at Nate and smiled. He really was one of the sweetest men she'd ever met.
