She shook him. "Eli, wake up." She got out of bed, tugging him to his feet. "Let's take a shower, baby. Come on. I'll go in with you."

Eli shooed her away. "I cant get water on my boo-boo," he murmured, his eyes still closed. "Please, Trix. I'm exhausted. My whole body hurts. I fell down the stairs."

Trixie held her ground, guiding him to the bathroom and closing the door. She sat him on the toilet while she turned on the shower. "I know ya did, baby. I know. But doctor says ya can't sleep for another hour or so." She moved to help him get his clothes off.

She scrambled up, practically tearing off her dress, along with everything else, then slid in with him. She turned the water off before nestling between his legs, leaning into his chest.
