"Nah," Erin replied, tossing her phone on the counter. "I'm gonna go see if my parents want me to buy one for them, too." She kissed him and went upstairs.

((And because this is TOTALLY something David would do...))
David sat and waited for her, staring at her cell phone. He kept his hands on his lap because he was itching to see what who'd she been talking to, and what she'd been talking about. He knew he shouldn't have, but when he phone buzzed again, he grabbed it, looking at the text.

((hahhahahahaha)) Erin had been texting multiple people. Text from Leah: I'm so excited! Ben is so hot. Too bad we can't double with you and Justin. It would have been perfect Text from Selena: Course I'll come! I'll bring Michelle from art, too.Text from Corey: You free this weekend? Or is it true you are dating that new guy?Erin came back downstairs, flipping through the menu and talking on their family's landline. "Yeah, I'll have a medium cheese and a medium veggie. Uh huh. Cash." She hung up the phone. "It'll be here soon. Do you have any homework you gotta work on? I have some reading to do..." She sighed, frowning, and reached for her phone. "Wish we could just wander the boardwalk like the summer."

He frowned, surreptitiously sliding her phone back onto the table without her seeing. "Uh, yeah. I have homework."

Erin took out her reading. "What's wrong?" She asked him.

He lifted a shoulder. "Nothing." Which was a total lie. He knew none of her friends really believed that she was seriously going to date him. And apparently she had guys like Cory waiting in the wings.

Erin glanced at him, wishing she knew what he was thinking, and instead headed for the living room to turn on the tv. "Screw homework, its the first week." She held out her hand for him to join her.

He moved to her, sitting beside her. He draped his arm over her shoulders, silent a minute or two before asking, "You don't care what your friends think of me, do you?"

"My friends don't know you so their opinions are irrelevant," Erin told him with a kiss as she flipped through the channels.

He kissed her back, but eyed her carefully. "Who's Cory?"

Erin blinked at him and then gave him a serious look. "Did you look at my phone?"

David frowned back at her, but nodded. He wasn't going to lie. "It went off. I picked it up to make it stop buzzing." Okay, so maybe he was going to lie a little.

Erin frowned, not really as mad at him as she probably should be. "Just a friend. " She kissed David. "Known him for a while, I sort of saw him whenever I was off with Justin."

"Just a friend? You're sure?" Because that text didn't seem friendly.

"Well...I mean...he thinks I'm single again." She grabbed her phone and quickly texted Corey that, no, she wasn't free this weekend because yes, she was dating the new guy. "There." She showed David her phone.
