((You. Are. Awesome.))
Erin held him for a moment and fell down, rinsing her self off in the ocean. It actually felt good since now she was hot and the sun was beating down even more. "Nice work," she said to David, smiling up at him. He worked pretty hard holding her up like that- she was impressed.

((YES! You are too!! <3))
He blushed, grinning at her as he rinsed himself off. "Thanks. You, uh, you're pretty good, too."

"I can't wait to go home and brag to my friends on how much sex I had this summer. They are gonna be so jealous, especially when I show them all those pictures." She stood up, and kissed him. "You have my email address right? And my phone number?"

He blushed and nodded, leading her back up the beach to their clothes. "I'll email you every day, call you all the time."

Erin dried herself off and got dressed. She needed a real shower. "I'd like that. I'm really busy when I first get back- we have dance team tryouts, and I'm one of the captains this year. I gotta play the nice one because the other captain is such a bitch." She rolled her eyes, thinking about Brooke. "Come by the restaurant before you go, okay? I'll be there cleaning." She kissed him on the mouth.

He nodded, watching her get dressed. "I'll make my parents drive by before we head to the airport." He folded the blankets, licking his lips. Now that they were getting ready to leave the beach, it was starting to hit him that they'd have to leave each other.

Erin took one look at his face and knew she couldn't handle thinking about this yet. She gave him a quick kiss goodbye, grabbed the blankets, and ran up the shore to her family's beachhouse. This was miserable. She got in the shower, felt a weird wave of exhaustion you only get from shacking up on the beach, and headed to the restaurant.

David was glum on the walk back to his hotel, and he ignored his parents questions and just got into the shower. They packed and were ready to leave, and he had to practically beg them to let him run into the restaurant before they drove to the airport.
"Erin?!"

Erin was carrying a box full of menus to the truck when she heard him. She quickly threw it on the truck and raced to David, jumping in his arms. "I'm never gonna see you again!" She wailed dramatically.

He held her tightly, burying his face in the crook of her neck. "Sweetie...Sweetie, don't say that. We'll see each other again. In no time."

She sighed, kissing him madly. "You're the greatest guy I've ever met, David Jacobs."

He kissed her back desperately. "I love you, Erin Green. No matter what happens, just remember that I love you." His dad honked the horn, so he kissed her one last time, setting her down. He gave her a forlorn look, then hurried to the car.

He was gone before she could tell him she loved him, too. And that wasn't the sort of thing you can tell on the telephone. Two weeks later, Erin walked into the parking lot at her high school trying to ignore the frustrating gossip of the other girls on the dance team on the first day of school. They were great friends of hers, but most were so shallow that it was getting boring. Erin usually preferred to socialize with her art class friends, but they smoked a lot of weed and Erin usually wasn't into that. She was especially bitter because her cell phone broke on the way home from the beach house, and she hadn't been able to talk to David, since his number was programmed into her phone. her parents had promised to get it fixed, but they were so busy with the end of summer business that she just had to wait. And, she lost his email address. She checked her email all the time, figuring he may be emailing her, but nothing. ((CHECK SPAM, ERIN! CHECK YOUR SPAM!! )) It was over. It was quite heartbreaking, actually, and Erin wasn't even close to over it. Maybe it was better this way- quick, like a band-aid. Between the jibberjabber about who was dating who and what freshman will make the team, her friend Leah grabbed her arm. "Is that Justin? Man, he looks good." Erin glanced in the direction, seeing her cheatng ex-boyfriend get out of his car. "Whatever. Its so over with him."

David had called several times a day, then once a day, then once a week. He never got an answer, never got a call back. He'd emailed her, too, but Erin had never responded to any of them. He felt hurt and stupid. It must have really been just a summer fling. The girl he'd lost his virginity to, he'd never see again.
And then what made matters worse, his Dad got a promotion in California, so they had to pack up and move across the country. It was the first day at his new school, and David was positively miserable.

((aww))
"But he looks so good! And he's so tan!" Leah encouraged Erin, sighing at Justin and the rest of the football team.
"It's SO OVER. I've moved on," Erin informed Leah, with a frown. "I told you about my summer. David was a good guy, he made Justin look like the biggest jerk ever. I can't believe I wasted all those years on him."
Erin stopped at her locker before making her way to class, feeling like a zombie all morning. She didn't even find it flattering when Chase hit on her during English class. She made her way to lunch, finding her friends in the courtyard and taking out her bag lunch.
--meanwhile--
Leah, Erin's friend, had sat next to David in her 4th period math class. "Hey, are you new?" She had never seen him before, and always liked to meet new people. Especially cute new boys with curly hair.
