Background info (please include family as well): Birdie's parents hailed from England, where they met, fell in love, and married as soon as they could. Facing disapproving families, the Simses hied off to New York, where Birdie's father, Altair, hoped to enjoy moderate success as a violinist. New York, tragically, disagreed with his dreams, and, though he was truly talented, Altair Sims struggled to find steady employment. Through a combination of meager diet, bitterly cold nights without a fire, and a particularly nasty strain of scarlet fever, Mr. and Mrs. Sims passed away, leaving young Birdie parentless and, with a debt barely covered by the price of the house, homeless. With only her father's violin and a tolerable ear for music, Birdie turned to Central Park, where she could scrape together enough coins by playing songs while perched on a stone bench.

Hello! Scripty messaged me about you lovely people, and I do dearly love Newsies and RPing, though I am really, really out of practice. Please forgive any awkwardness, stupidity, or other weirdness, as I am rather new to the whole message board RP setup. I'm excited about meeting everybody, though!
