Dammit... This was the only thing Pasha hadn't thought of! He couldn't just make her thing he was just like every other common guy on the street -- even though he was. "Well, funny you should ask," he began. "I just got a job in your father's toy factory." He paused before raising the glass to his lips. "But, where I am from, I am much more. Must start somewhere, yes?"

Pasha's eye lit up. Yes! That would be perfect! After all, this girl would not know the Russian royals, anyway. This plan, he decided, was fool-proof. "Da," he answered casually, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye to gauge her reaction. "I am in exile here, living like the common people of this city." His mind started to race with ideas as to how he could successfully pull this off. One thing was for certain, however; he was going to have to convince his sister to make him some 'royal' clothes.

Annabelle's eyes grew wider. She could NOT believe her luck! If she could snag a prince, she'd be the luckiest girl in all of New York! It would be the biggest accomplishment! "Oh...wow! It is...such an honor to meet you, your Highness? or Your Majesty? I always get those confused..."

Pasha shook his head slowly, letting out a soft chuckle. "You do not have to call me any of these things," he assured her before setting his glass down on top of the bar. "I am just Pasha for you, Annabelle." His head was soon swirling with possibilities. If he could continue to put up this front, maybe this girl could introduce his sister to some of the high society men and then he could marry her off! Maybe, just maybe, if he was good enough at all of this pretending, people would start to believe it and shower him with all kinds of exotic gifts! He couldn't believe he hadn't thought of a story like this sooner.

"My father, he thinks we need to respect this type of life. Says it is part of being a wise leader." Yes, Pasha, good thinking.

Annabelle frowned. "That sounds...awful. I know I could never do it," she shrugged, and took his hand. "If you ever need a nice place to say, the Carmichael mansion is available. To both you and your sister. I am sure my father would love to have a royal houseguest." She smiled, squeezing his hand.

Pasha could not believe what this girl had just offered him! Him and his sister in a mansion?? Part of him almost felt guilty for lying to her like this, but there was an even bigger part of him that was quick to point out how many other people have done much, much worse to girls like her. "I thank you very much," he smiled, lightly giving her hand a squeeze. "That is very kind of you, Annabelle." Yes, maybe this would end up working out, after all.

Annabelle nearly squealed, but kept her composure. What the other society members would think, her bringing a PRINCE into her house! Her mother would die. Her father would forever worship her.
"So what is your castle like in Moscow? Does anyone speak English?" She asked him, straw in her mouth. She could see herself moving there, if she had to. She wasn't all that attached to New York anyway.
