Natalie felt her chest tighten, and for a second she was afraid she might cry, so she didn't go after him. She just let him leave.

A few days later, Eli sat in the children's cancer ward at the local hospital, playing the Game of Life with 2 young girls.
"WHOA. Your house is flooded after a storm. Good thing you have house insurance, Violet," Eli said, and the little girl laughed.
"My turn!" The second little girl, Nora, exclaimed, and spun the wheel. "Yes! Pay Day!" Eli grumbled as he gave her $100,000.
"You a such a cheater, Nora," He joked, and she shook her head.
"You are a sore loser, Eli Green." She shot back, which only made the three of them laugh harder.
