Pasha returned her kiss softly, his hand lightly caressing her cheek, tucking a stray piece of hair back behind her ear. If only Annabelle really knew who was really the lucky one out of the two of them!

Annabelle moaned into his kiss, and then pulled away, looking into his eyes, an awful thought suddenly occurring to her. "Pasha." She cleared her throat, stroking his cheek. "Are you promised to anyone?"

"Promised to anyone?" Pasha asked, his eyebrow arching. He was silent for a moment, his eyes lost in hers. "N-no..." he said with a laugh. "I am not."

"But how could that be! You are a prince!" Annabelle replied, not believing him. The only reason she hadn't been promised to anyone was because at the time, her father was rich enough that they didn't need to.

Pasha shrugged. "I have not picked a princess that I like enough yet." He hoped she would believe his excuse... it was the only one he could think up on the spot. "I have a year left until I must decide."
