"I will," she said, nodding. "I'll send a telegram to the House when I know what time my train's leaving," she promised, holding his hands tightly.

"I love you, too," she assured him, hugging him tightly. Then, before she could chicken out, she got onto the train.
Several days later, Skittery was the lucky one to be in the lobby when the telegram was delivered. He didn't realize who Tyler McGowan was until Maggie told him it was Moonshine. He rushed up to the boys' bunk room and gave it to him.

It said her train would be arriving in New York at 7 o'clock that evening; it was currently noon.

He let out a breath. At least he hadn't missed it, and at least she didn't write anything worrying. By 7, he was already at the station, waiting on the platform.

It didn't take long for Rose to spot Tyler after she stepped off the train. She was exhausted, but her expression was transformed when she saw him. It had only been a few days, but she couldn't stop herself from running to him, throwing her arms around his neck.
