"Any time, Rae," Nate said in reply as he gently returned her hug. He pulled away slowly and cleared his throat before rising to his feet. "I should probably head out. There's this... thing... I've gotta do." Yeah, like make a beeline for the bar. "I'll see you later, yeah?"

"Yeah, I'm good," he assured her with a slight grin. He shrugged and shoved his hand into his pockets. "I just told some friends that I would meet them. I'm running a bit late, actually."
