Zippy stared at the house, holding her bag tightly around her and selling a few papers here and there.
If she went in there, she could make enough money to take a train out of this city forever. She didn't know how long it would take her, but definitely it would be quicker than selling frickin' newspapers.
Despite its attraction, she couldn't move towards the door, and instead merely sold papers to passerbys and Madame Barry's loyal customers. The irony was, this was kind of a decent spot to sell.

Tristan was headed home after a particularly brutal boxing match. He'd won of course, but he felt like his cheek had been punched into a thousand little pieces. Thankfully it was still intact. He made a left and then headed down the street of Madame Barry's, he stopped when he heard a familiar voice screaming headlines...
"Nah," He said to himself and kept walking.

Zippy had a double take when she noticed Tristan walk past. When she realized it was him, she half expected the guy to enter the brothel. When he continued to walk, she shrugged and figured she may as well see how he was.
"Tristan!" She shouted, catching up to him. "Hi." She blinked, tilting her head at him. "What happened to your face?"

"Zippy!" He claimed with alarm. "Just work " he said with a smirk. Zippy. Looked good. "You look like you're doing good Zip. "

"Oh you know." Zippy replied nonchalantly, with a shrug. All her bruises must have been healed. "Hows the girlfriend?"

"Good...can't complain," He said with a shrug and then raked his fingers through his hair. He didn't feel the need to tell her he got married, feeling like it would just make this more awkward, "Listen...I'm sorry for what I did to you..." He cleared his throat.

Zippy shrugged. "Water under the bridge. I've been hurt worse." She was, however, surprised to hear he still kept the girlfriend. Must be someone special. Or he got her pregnant.

"Alright," He said with a nod and shoved his hands into his pockets. "You wanna grab a drink or something?"

Zippy glanced at Madame Barry's, then back at him. "Are you paying?"

"Yeah I'm paying," He said with a laugh, "Come on." He offered her his arm and smirked at her.

"Alright, but you know what that pub does to me." Zippy rubbed her eyes, and looked up at him. "How's Rae?"

"She's...okay I guess. Things haven't been easy for her lately." Tristan said.

"Why? What happened?" Zippy asked, concerned. They reached the bar and Zippy opened up the door for him. She hadn't had a drink in the middle of the day for a long time now.

"What...oh boy, you better sit down," He said. They sat at the bar and he immediately ordered them drinks. "Well...Spot and Rae were gonna get married. He basically fled and left her on their wedding day. So, Rae was raising Sean on her own and now he's back."

"Again?" Zippy exclaimed, groaning. "How could he do that to her AGAIN? And on THEIR WEDDING DAY?! And WITH SEAN?!" Zippy tossed back half her whiskey coke. "Un-frickin-believable. Where is she now?"
