"Hey! Be nice to my dog," Rae snapped at him. "But it's true! You couldn't wait to get rid of me yesterday and now you're acting like everything is fine. I don't know what the hell you want." She rubbed the puppy's chets, "Calm down." She kissed the top of his head tenderly.
"You scared him."

"I wasn't laughing at you, I was laughing at the situation." Rae said, rolling her eyes. She put her new puppy gently into the water. He yelped.
"Aww, it's okay." She pouted slightly at him as she moved the water over his fur. "He needs a name."

Raven laughed and shook her head, "Scruffy? He is ya know...he's never gonna be fluffy or anything." She said as she scrubbed him clean. Scruffy closed his eyes and whimpered.

"Well help me out here," Rae said with a laugh. The dog looked up at Spot with sad brown all, soaking wet with mangry brown hair.

Shadow barked in agreement. Raven smiled, "He is going to be my protector. I can feel it." She lifted Shadow out of the bath and started to dry him up with a towel. Shadow's tongue hung out of his mouth as he panted happily, tail wagging.
Raven glanced up at Spot. "So..."

Raven sighed heavily, "It ain't like you gotta scream it to the whole lodging house. It's just me." Raven let Scruffy curl up on her lap as she scratched behind his ear.
"Sometimes I need to be reassured that this is going somewhere ya know?" She sighed again.
