He wasn't wrong, but they'd grown up together-- went through most of the hard things together too. She knew what he was like and how much his temper got them both into trouble. She lifted her eyes to his and folded her arms, "Just me?"

He nodded " you ... And... " he cocked his brow up secretly. "You're my lucky charm miri" he said putting a hand on her hips and wiggled her back and forth slightly.

She rolled her eyes skyward and let him move her, letting her head fall back. "How can I be your lucky charm it's because of me you got sent to prison."

He shrugged " its because of you... I haven't been in there earlier... Or longer for that matter. " he said and leaned forward kissing her chin " is it just me or are you even more gorgeous then before " he smirked and wiggled her again.

He was trying to get her to smile and she knew it, she waved her hands at him but the movement was tugging a small smile form her and she swatted at his shoulders. "Stop it I'm still mad.." three years was a long time...

He grinned " Aw miri can you really stay mad at this face?" Puppy eyes again as he raised his hands up to her sides ticking her a bit.

She swatted at his hands, trying to squirm away--- it had been three years and she'd been alone that long. "You cant' just walk in here like it's not big deal you've been gone Nick." Because it was, it was a super big deal.... and he was just bringing back bittersweet memories now. She looked up at him, her lips making a firm line. "I missed you... but I'm not the same person.." She didn't think she was anyway.

he dropped his hands and tilted his head at her. "miri. Im not acting like its no big deal, but I dont want to dwell on it. Ive had to deal with it, stuck in a damn cell." he said. "you think i fucking enjoyed that. knowing that you were here, god knows what you were going through and I couldnt be there for you" he ran a hand through his hair. "I dont expect you to be the same. Im asking you not to make those three years to drag on further."

She wanted to snap at him, she hissed instead and turned her head as she shook her head and looked down at the floor and away from him. It hurt, but Miri lifted her eyes to his after a moment and let out a breath. "Are you really okay?"

nick watched her, so lost as to what was going through her mind. He wished he could read her mind, because Miranda was one person that the only way to know was by reading her thoughts. At her question he shrugged. was he okay? He was finally out of that hell hole. Yes of course he was okay. "yeah.. miri. Im good." not to mention Miranda hadnt kicked him out, or refused to see him or hell anything real bad. "really good"

"I should break your arms and beat you with them," she replied looking up at him with a scowl, shaking her head before she walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his neck, she couldn't lie she'd missed him.

Nick smirked " sounds a little kinky for my tastes but if that's what you're into.... I just guess ill get through it" he put his arms around her waist " see isn't this much better? Did you like my present?"
