Blink fiercely hugged Mush and started pushing him backwards and away from this big man. He'd never seen Mush this angry before.

Once Mush doubled over from the man's punch, Ericson's goon pried himself away and stood up, dusting himself off before giving Adri a warning look before finally walking away as if nothing happened.
"Mush, Mush, look at me," said Adri, trying her best to steer him away. "Stop, please." She was thankful that Blink was there. Ershey knew she didn't have the strength to hold Mush back.

Mush calmed down just enough to hear and see everything again. He was still breathing heavily, but he directed his eyes to look at Ershey.
"...Sorry. I'm sorry." He said breathlessly.

Blink finally let Mush go.
"The hell was that about?" he murmured, turning to watch the mysterious man walk further and further away. Blink didn't like how his back looked -- untrustworthy.

"Thanks for comin' over, Blink," said Ershey, completely ignoring his question as she pulled down the cap on her head in an attempt to hide her face. So much for keeping it a secret.

"That guy..." Mush started, still quite out of breath. "He said somethin' to Ersh. If you know what I mean." He was trying to convey that the man had made lewd and nasty comments toward her.

Blink's jaw dropped open and his hand went to his heart. He looked back. Ericson was long gone, but, "SAY HI TO YOUR MUDDAH FOR ME, GUY!"

"C'mon, guys, he's gone," said Ershey wearily, trying her best to hide her panic. Great. Now, Ericson knows about Mush and Blink. "It's nothin'."

"Yeah, you're right," Blink said, still giving the street a weary once-over. "Uhm. But. You crazy kids have fun. I know when I'm not wanted," Blink smiled at them lazily.

Mush let out a huge sigh, trying not to show any signs of pain. But his stomach hurt something awful after that punch.
"Thanks, Blink." He gave his friend a knowing look, something that had to do with guy code.

Blink gave Mush, then Ershey, friendly salutes and returned to sell his papers he had discarded on the stoop.

Once Blink was out of earshot, Mush glanced over at Ershey.
"Sorry." He said quietly, hoping she wasn't too mad at him.

"You're lucky he just punched you," she said, looking at him with worry as she cupped his face with her hands. Then, she began to worry. "Does it hurt? Are you going to be alright? How's your stomach?"
