Copper and Sapphy had slept in late, in the same bunk, where they could whisper secrets and catch up all night. Copper didn't disturb her as he went downstairs to the lobby to pay for the both of them for one more night -- tomorrow he'd have to sell papes with his sister because his funds were almost gone.
He signed their names, scowling at their nicknames for half a second before sighing in defeat and pulling out a cigarette.

Risk slowly made his way down the stairs towards the lobby. He couldn't understand how newsies did it -- waking up early, selling before the sun was up, selling again for the next edition, going out at night and drinking before waking up again. It's as if they didn't sleep!
"Got another one of those?" yawned Risk. "I need something to keep me going."

"Copper," he said, blowing his smoke away from Risk out of the corner of his mouth. He shook his hand enthusiastically -- but even if Copper hated you, he'd shake your hand enthusiastically, that's just how he greeted everyone.

Risk took a moment to light his cigarette before shaking Copper's hand. "You new here?" He didn't seem too bad. Then again, anyone who would offer a cigarette was pretty great in his book.

"Ran into this kid, Goblin, who showed me around a bit when I first got here. Not bad, but a bit too friendly... he was sorta hard to read. Then, there's Sapphy -- didn't get to talk to her much but nice until she started bickering with Goblin about something... and these two girls, Rae and... a little blonde one over at Irving Hall," explained Risk, counting them off with his fingers. "Just interesting personalities... I'd hate to get caught in a fight around here."

"Scrawny little kid," said Risk, not thinking too much of it. "Light brown hair, a bit shorter than me... He's probably one of the younger ones around here. Wait, you know Sapphy?"
Risk turned to look at Copper, taking the cigarette out of his mouth for a moment.

Copper grinned, thoughts of Goblin temporarily leaving him.
"Don'tcha see the dashing resemblance?" he asked, posturing slightly.

Risk stared at him in confusion, however, after a couple of seconds, his eyes grew wide.
"You're her brother? I should've known from the hair," he muttered as he blew smoke away from Copper's direction. "But I thought you're new here? Met up with Sapphy?"
