Lily groaned, pouting. "I don't like surprises!"

"You'll like this surprise!" he swore.

"Fine." She sighed before dropping her flower into a cup of water. It felt so weird to be going on a date with Kevin... And she was still wondering if there would be a stampede tonight.
"Can we go?" She was anxious to see what he had planned!

"Yeah, we don't wanna be late -- the place is strict on reservations," he said gravely.

Lily took him seriously and she raised her eyebrows. "Oh. Am I dressed all right?"

Kevin laughed.
"Yes, you look beautiful."

She nodded, her heart suddenly beating rapidly. She followed him out into the hall and locked the door behind her, her black coat draped over her arm.
"How've you been?" She asked as they walked toward the front door.

"Studying for tests," he grimaced. "And you?"

"Working at the diner, writing papers, editing articles, reading editorial pieces... The usual." She sighed, glad she had gotten all her work done for the week. She slipped her coat on once they got outside; the weather had turned so chilly after Halloween, but fall was Lily's favorite time of year.

Kevin considered holding her hand for a second, but didn't have the backbone to do so just yet. They caught a cab which Kevin directed to Central Park.
It was a movies in the park night. They were showing Roman Holiday and had a small crowd already formed with sleeping bags and blankets. But then there were the reserved seats -- the dinner and a movie packages where you were served food as the movie rolled.
After Kevin gave his name, they were lead to a front table. It was cute and lovely with white chairs and a white tablecloth, flowers and candles on top, and heat lamps stationed close-by.

Lily was absolutely speechless. She observed the scene with wide eyes, amazed that Kevin had thought of this (seemingly) all by himself. It was so romantic and perfect.
"I... This... And you..."

Lily just smiled as she sat down, her cheeks warm as a slight blush crept onto her face.
If Kevin was trying to woo her, he was doing an excellent job so far.

"They don't have a huge menu," he apologized. "It's definitely more of a atmosphere over food decision."
