Raven looked up at him and swallowed hard, her heart was racing. She knew he didn't mean to hurt her and he'd touched her so gently. She just didn't know if she could let herself trust him, even for a night.
"I...I know you will..." she said softly. She knew she was shaking, it was so ridiculous involuntary response when she was beginning to feel panicked.

"Good." Spot answered, shoving his hands into his pockets and taking a few steps back. Hell, if he didn't do that he'd probably grab her and take her right then and there.

Raben bit her lip and stood next to him in silence for a minute. She took a deep breath, then turned to face him.
"Sorry," She whispered. "It's not you, I just had...some really terrible things done to me by guys" Raven swallowed hard, "I know you won't hurt me, Spot." She licked her lips and looked down at the floor.

"Raven," Spot began, looking at her, "I'm going to promise you that nobody will ever touch you like that again. Ever."
He had heard some things from Jack about the shit Raven's been through, but he had a feeling there were loads more he didn't know.

Spot cleared his throat. "Well good. Alright then." He nodded and proceeded to yell at one of the guys to quit dangling a young newsie off the side of the dock.

Raven bit her lip as she watched the scene unfold. "Poor kid," She shook her head.
"Don't it get tiring? Looking out for everyone all the time?" Raven asked.

The older newsie obliged, setting the young one back down and he ran off the docks. Spot looked at Raven and shrugged.
"I dunno. All I know is that people listen to what I gotta say. I maintain the peace around here." Spot informed her proudly.
((I just watched the scene where Jack Davey and Boots first go to spot and ask him to join the strike. I'm inspired))

"HEY SPOT!" Sammy shouted, hurrying over to him, coming out of nowhere. "They'se done. Bronx won't bother us- or her-" He pointed at Raven, "Anymore."
"Why?" Spot asked immediately.
"None of 'em want a turf war." Spot smiled and shook hands with Sammy.

Raven smiled too, she couldn't help it and then her smile faded.
"Hunter really decided to let up just cause of a turk war? No terms...nothing?" She was skeptical about this. Her brother was always haunting her.

"He couldn't get enough of a following, Brooklyn's got his boys nervous," Sammy explained, patting Spot on the back. "Plus I threatened him. He can't come here and we can't ever go there, which I'm not disappointed about." Sammy looked at Rae. "Got that, new girl? No crawling back home."
Spot rolled his eyes and shoved Sammy. "Shuddup, and don't talk to her like that, she knows."

Raven glared at Sammy. "Why the hell would I wanna go back there anyways? Bunch of sick fucks live in that house." She said angrily. She unconsciously stepped closer to Spot.

Spot did the same thing, taking a step closer to Raven, they were nearly touching. "Alright alright, we all get it." He looked at Sammy. "Spread the word, Bronx is off limits from now on. Good job, you got the rest of the weekend off."
Sammy grinned, nodding. "Got it. Wanna get a drink later?"
Spot shrugged. "Dunno, think I'm gonna stick around here in case Hunter and his boys are full of shit."
Sammy nodded again and walked away. Spot turned to Raven and blinked surprised at how close they were.
