Macbeth couldn't quite recall the context of the last time she'd seen Ershey, but she was sure it had involved her getting punched or throttled or pulling out a knife or patching someone's gunshot wound. She let out a quick, vaguely guilty sigh. "Sorry, Ersh. Don't tell me you didn't know this'd happen."
And, because she was just that good a friend, she decided to go away herself--just grabbed her bag and disappeared up the stairs to the girls' bunkroom.

Ershey watched her friend go. She was definitely glad to have Macbeth back but she knew it'd be a challenge for her to get used to the place and the people around Manhattan. They'd both gone through incredible trials and events and Ershey didn't blame Macbeth for being how she was.
Once Macbeth was gone, Ershey's eyes narrowed as she looked at Copper. She gave him a punch on the shoulder as if to say 'it's all your fault' before heading towards the door to go outside.

"Ow! The fuck?!" Copper cried out, following Ershey. "Come on, what? You too? Are all the girls in this house fucking snobs?"

"Alright, alright, it wasn't your fault," said Ershey, slowing down so he could keep up. "But it's her first time here and I haven't seen her for years!"

"Copper. And you are?" He stuck his hand out towards her politely.

"Ershey," she replied, shaking his hand. "I'm guessin' you're new around here?"

"Almost a week, yeah," he said slowly, eyes searching the ground for a decent cigarette butt. He pounced on one and lit it, holding the tiny stub between his fingernails. "How about you?"

"Been here a couple months already," replied Ershey, shrugging. "It's not so bad. You get used to the people around here."

"Yeah? Only really care for that Jack fella and the other new guy so far. Everyone around here seems so uptight -- no offense. I don't really know you yet."

Copper shrugged happily.
"I am a degenerate."
