Raven ground her teeth and was up in a flash, she immediately stormed over to Macbeth and slapped her across the face.
"I should tear your fucking mouth right off. I am sick of stupid little girls, talking like they know everything. You just got here so you better learn real fast." She sneered. "Spot Conlon and me have been together since we're fifteen years old. I ain't some cheap fuck and never was. Learn who to piss and who not too cause when you need help somebody might not be there."

Beth just gave her a look of contempt. People hitting her was pretty much a weekly occurrence, and she'd learned to take it long ago. "Oh, trust me, I know who'll be there. Found that out years ago." She got up to leave, hesitated, slapped her book into Sapphy's hand, and said, "Let me know what happens. If I know the little bitch dies, I'll be able to get through it." And then she walked out.

Sapphy just sat down -- she was fucking tired of it all. Brooklyn. Manhattan. Everyone was so full of stupid pride. The only reason it wasn't safe to go out at night was because everyone was in everyone else's business and went out looking for a fight.
She took out one of her papers and started to read it, trying not to cry from frustration. Raven could hate her if she wanted -- if she had to do it over again, she'd still stick up for the stranger.

Raven wasn't going to act all sorry and apologize, for what? The bitch deserved what she got, she was the one who started it all coming at her all defensive.
She finally made it outside, her eyes widened immediately and she knew she was puking. In about two seconds, all over the street outside. She turned around, ran right back inside and made a beeline for the bathroom, hand over her mouth.

It took Sapphy a few moments to register what'd just happened. She folded up her paper and timidly followed Raven into the bathroom.
She knocked.
"Need any help? Not that I think you're incapable of helping yourself, I just don't know what to say."

When Rae finally emerged from the stall she was white as a ghost and had her hand on her stomach.
"I'm fine...it'll go away...then I'll eat something else and it'll come back." She grumbled.
She went over to the sink and ran the water. She sipped some out of her hand and drank it, washing the water around her mouth before spitting it out into the garbage can.
"Ugh." Raven turned to look at Sapphy.
"I know you feel bad for her, but you shouldn't. She made herself that way. I don't feel sorry for nobody, either you fix yourself or you don't. I didn't do anything to her and she was nasty from the beginning, if I wanted to I could talk to everyone I met that way too."

"I know, I just couldn't control myself." Raven sighed heavily. This time when Raven turned on the sink she splashed her face with water, her cheeks were flushed and she was already feeling better.
"Though it teaches a lesson sometimes. When I was real little I got into the grapes and I swear I musta ate a dozen bushels of them, maybe more. They were delicious. When my dad saw me sitting there...anyways he spanked me so hard I had a welt on my ass the size of Texas. I never ate a grape again without asking."

"Enough about her, cause I never feel guilty about being rude so I'll never talk to her again." Raven looked in the mirror and fixed her hair.
