She sighed irritably. Good question. "An old friend wrote me, said I should give the Duane Street house a try." She hadn't had any friends in London, only memories.

"And? What'd you think so far?" asked Risk curiously.

She snorted. "I've had an insult match with some irritating ginger guy who was high as a kite, got in a fight with Spot Conlon's girlfriend, and met a girl who likes books. And you." She eyed him speculatively. "Mixed reviews so far."

Risk laughed softly. "Mixed reviews? Can't make out what you think of me, hm?"

"Nah, you're a great mystery," she said sarcastically. "And I'm sure you think I'm easy to read, huh?"

"Likewise," nodded Risk. "You're a tough one to crack... well, I did just meet you, anyway. Maybe I'll have you figured out next time."

"Next time we stand in an interminable bleeding line together?" She rolled her eyes. "I'm uncrackable, don't even bother." ((LIES, all lies ))

"Next time when we're drinkin' together," smiled Risk, hoping she'd take his invitation. "I doubt that. Everyone cracks... eventually."
((Hehehehe))

"Sounds like a threat," Macbeth observed sharply, looking him up and down. "Well, God knows I could use a drink."
Half a drink, she thought privately, if he didn't forget all about this insane offer of his. Because she knew full well that she couldn't hold her liquor. And worse, that it made her talk.
((Oh gods, this is how it all started last time!))

"It's not a threat, it's an invitation," said Risk, smirking. "So, you're up for it?"
Deep down, he knew it was a bad idea. With what happened with Raven last time, he wasn't too sure if he was being rational at all. Then again, what else would they do?
((Yeahhhhhhhh hahha))

Macbeth didn't think there was anything deeper going on here. She was well aware that she looked something like a dead rag doll and had the personality of a viper. But just in case, she gave Risk the hardest, meanest smirk she'd ever given, and said, "If you're expecting anything more than a drink, you're gonna regret it. Deeply."
And then, totally casual like nothing scary had just happened, she looked away and said, "Yeah, I'm up for it."

"Good," smiled Risk, nodding. He waved off her earlier comment, chalking it up to her being a girl. He was used to it and it was definitely nothing new. "That's all I needed to hear."
Grabbing his papers, he looked back at Macbeth. "Where do you sell around here, anyway?"

"As far as possible from where everyone else is selling."

"Why aren't I surprised?" muttered Risk to himself as he watched her get her papers.

She came back with her bag full of papes and glanced at him. "Out near the bridge," she offered before walking off into the crowd. Just in case he seriously wanted to hunt her down and get drinks later, though of course she didn't really think he'd show.
