"You don't have to do anything for your sister like that!" she scoffed, still smiling so widely her cheeks hurt. "Just comfort her. People break up, it's not the end of the world and you don't have to fight Jack. Did he knock her up? Did he cheat on her?"

David kicked another pebble as he stepped up to the window and bought his papers. "I dunno...she never really told me what happened, exactly. And neither did Jack. And then I heard he and Stagey had a thing, and apparently now there's some redhead, so Sarah's still all up on me to not be friends with him."
