Raven nodded, "In a year or two you might feel differently about keeping her. Lots of things change." She shrugged, "At sixteen I would have been completely losing my mind about having a kid...now, not so much. I would say you can have friends help you, but you don't strike me as the type that has a lot of friends."

She snorted. "You might be surprised--but most of 'em are either more fucked up than I am or too sweet and naive to burden with any of my problems. 'Sides, I've mostly lost touch with 'em, 'cept for Ershey."

Raven noded and thought herself lucky that she had a solid group of friends she could count on. Without them she would be totally alone except for Spot. "Ershey's a great girl, she so nice. I didn't know people that nice even existed."

"Exactly. Believe it or not, before me and Ershey were friends...I was worse. Much worse. You'd've stabbed me with a fork by now."

Raven laughed, "Probably, it takes a lot for me to restrain myself. I really did almost stab you, crazy doesn't die easy." She said with a smile. "You do need to lighten up though, I'm sure you get that a lot."

"I'm pretty sure I was born this way. It's the lightest I'm ever gonna get. Most people don't wanna deal with it, so they can just avoid me," she said calmly. People never change was a primary staple of her philosophy, though a couple people she'd known had shaken it a little.

She nodded. "I hear ya...I've calmed down a little over the years, but not much." She smiled at her and grabbed herself an apple, she bit into it.

Beth sat in silence for a while, methodically biting her apple down to the core. "Well, I should prob'ly go sell some damn papes. Thanks for the food."

"Alright and you're welcome." Raven picked up the dish from the counter and turned around to start washing it in the sink.

Macbeth got up and headed out the door. Hesitated. "See you around." And finally went on down the stairs, confident that they were totally not friends.

Raven rolled her eyes ans shook her head and she scrubbed the dish. She did have a feeling that Macbeth would be back though. Well, she could always be wrong.
((Love them!))
