Specs listened patiently as Tag read, noticing her breaths and attempts to hold in her coughs. She was definitely sick and Specs knew she was too proud to admit it, at least when she was reading.
"I like it," he grinned. His expression changed quickly, however, when he stood up and offered her his hand. "But I think that you need to get some rest."

"I've just been sleeping for three hours!" She countered, slamming the book shut and looking up at him sternly.

"Your throat hurts and you know it," said Specs, shooting her a look. "You've been trying not to cough the past couple chapters, Tag. I'm not slow."

"It's all this dust." She stood up, hugging the book to her chest. "How about we just go somewhere else? Outside, maybe? Or the library. I've got to return this book, anyways."

"Outside sounds good," said Specs, offering her his hand. "Maybe you just need some air."

Tag took his hand, lacing her fingers through his and squeezing. Even though it had been a bit annoying, she knew his worry just meant he cared about her.
She walked a bit behind him down the sets of stairs until they reached the front door of the house. When she stepped outside, she took a deep breath of fresh air (well, at least more fresh than the attic air). Her lungs felt hardly any less constricted than they had earlier, however, and she began coughing again.

Specs brows furrowed in worry. With his other free hand, he reached over to rub her back.
"How about you just lie down? I don't think going anywhere today might be a good idea for you," said Specs gently.

She was about to retort that there was probably still dust in there from the attic, but she actually didn't feel like arguing any longer. She was suddenly extremely tired. So, she nodded and turned to go back into the house.

Relieved that Tag finally agreed, Specs ushered her back inside. Figuring that it'd be best to go to the infirmary rather than her bunkbed, he opened the door to the room, thankful to see that it was empty.
"Stay here," he said, leading her towards one of the cots. "I'll get some water for you."

Tag set the book on the small bedside table beside her cot, yawning as she did so.

Specs came back with a glass of water, which he immediately handed to her. "Here you go."

Tag gulped the water down, hoping that would wash all the dust out of her lungs. She was never going back into the again - she'd learned her lesson.
She handed him the glass back and laid down on the cot, her eyelids getting very heavy. "I'm just gonna rest my eyes. I won't fall asleep. Talk to me so I won't."

"Alright," nodded Specs, grabbing the nearby chair and placing it next to her cot. He knew she was going to fall asleep but decided not to say anything. "What do you think our next book should be?"

"It's your choice." She replied, her voice already soft and sleepy.

"How about Shakespeare, hm?" he asked softly, gently pushing stray hairs away from her face.
