It was less than a minute away and Blink won the race -- what race? -- to the vendor.
"Two of yer hot dogs with everything on 'em, Eddie!" Blink beamed at him happily, slapping down his money on the counter.

Arriving at the vendor only a few seconds after Blink, Kathryn tried her best to hide that she was completely out of breath. She never ran - ever. She didn't know what had come over her, starting that impromptu race.
She tried to say something flirty to Blink, but was still trying to catch her breath.

Guess my flirtatious comment would've fallen on deaf ears, anyway. She rolled her eyes as she noticed Blink was more concerned about the hot dog than her. What is it with boys and food?
