Even though their kiss was softer and sweeter than her kiss with Moonshine last night, it felt completely different. There were sparks and fireworks and butterflies and angel music. Kathryn found herself, once again, out of breath.

[Kid Blink]

Blink already pulled away -- she was the Mayor's daughter, after all. She was high class and Blink was... Blink.

[Kathryn]

"...Right. Okay. Good."

Kathryn could hardly gather her thoughts. She had just kissed a newsie (well, two newsies this week, actually). And this one had been pretty mind blowing.

[Kid Blink]

Blink nodded affirmatively and placed his hat back on his head. Unsure of what to do next, he proceeded in demolishing the remainder of his hot dog.

[Kathryn]

Kathryn took a delicate bite of her hot dog, a gazillion thoughts racing through her head. She felt like everything she knew about flirting and teasing and catching a guy was now kaput. She felt like the only thing she actually knew right now was that she desperately wanted to kiss Blink again.

"Why have you been on your own for so long?" If he felt they didn't know each other well enough, she figured she'd take the first step.

[Kid Blink]

"Don't rightly know," he said, unusually bright for such a serious topic. "Remember my mother... My father, not as much. I knew he was there... But my memories of being in an orphanage are much clearer."

[Kathryn]

"When did you become a newsie?" She finished off her hot dog, genuinely curious as to how and why Blink was who he was.

[Kid Blink]

"Four years ago, when I was twelve," he smiled. "What about you? What were you doing when you were twelve?"

[Kathryn]

Kathryn scrunched up her face as she thought. "Basically the same thing I'm doing now. Private lessons, supporting my father at political things. Though, he wasn't mayor yet, so he actually spent some time with me..."

[Kid Blink]

Blink thought about that. Though he could not remember what it felt like to have a father, the absence of one was greatly felt within him.

"I'm sorry."

[Kathryn]

Kathryn shrugged casually, brushing it off.

"It's all right. I've gotten used to having a politician instead of a father," she replied with a smirk.

[Copper]

Blink wrinkled his nose.

"I dunno how you could. Who'd want that?"

[Kathryn]

"Someone who has a, shall we say, fondness for breaking the rules..." Kathryn's smirk did not leave her face as she looked directly at Blink.

[Copper]

"Huh." He reflected on that for a moment. "I suppose that could have some benefits." Though he couldn't imagine what kind of trouble a girl like Kathryn could get herself into.

[Kathryn]

((I don't know either, but she became a rebel as I was forming her personality. It was like J.K. and Harry Potter - I HAD NO CONTROL.))

"How did you get that eye patch?" Obviously this question had been simmering under the surface since she'd first seen him way back when.
