Tag had woken up in a room she did not recognize, a needle stuck into her arm, her lungs struggling for breath, and Kathryn - the mayor's daughter - at her bedside. Obviously she had thought it was a dream and tried to go back to sleep. When she woke up again, she would be back in her bunk, feeling great, and ready for another selling day with Specs.
But Kathryn made sure she didn't fall back asleep, telling her that Ryan had been here and would be coming back soon and she had pneumonia but she would be all right.
A few hours later, Tag was still considering that this was all a dream. Kathryn had left not too long ago, and the quiet of the hospital room forced her to think about what had been happening recently in her life. Yes... I WAS sick. And Specs was trying to help me feel better. And then... I fell asleep... And woke up here. She still didn't quite understand everything, but one thing she did know was that breathing had become the biggest chore and it was quite annoying.

Specs rushed over towards Tag's room, both incredibly excited and impatient to see her. He'd had a restless day and couldn't help but worry about her. He was tempted to run back to the hospital and stay by her side, however, he needed money for the lodging house and food. He needed to survive, somehow.
Gently knocking on Tag's door, he peeked inside before slowly making his way towards her bed. "How are you?" he grinned, kissing her cheek.

Tag didn't really know how to answer that question. Physically, she felt awful. Mentally, she was confused. Emotionally, she was now very glad to see him.
"Oh, you know. The usual." She replied with a small grin. Her voice was barely above a whisper and she coughed a few times at the end of her sentence.

Specs laughed softly, glad to see her smile. "Here you go," he said slyly as he handed her a flower that he was hiding behind his back.

She took the flower from him and brought it to her nose.
"Oh, it's beautiful. Thank you."

"I figured it'd make you feel better," he smiled, sitting on the edge of her bed. "The doctors treating you alright?"

Tag nodded, trying to take a deep breath but finding it impossible.
"Did you sell today?"

"During the morning and a bit in the afternoon," he said reassuringly. He looked around at her room, quite grateful at the treatment she was getting at the hospital. "You're lucky that Kathryn visited when she did... or else you wouldn't be here."

"Yes, I know." Tag replied, looking down at the flower in her hands. "I don't know how I can ever repay her..."

"No, I have to repay her," said Risk, shaking his head. "I was supposed to be the one taking care of you and helping you get better..." He frowned, frustrated that he couldn't do anything earlier.

Tag chuckled, rolling her eyes. "You did the best you could. This isn't your fault, my love."

"I'm just glad you're better," he smiled, gently touching her cheek with his hand. "It's good to see you smile again."

"Yes, well, it'll be even better when I can properly breathe again." She covered his hand with her own, her forehead wrinkled.

"Do you know how long you're supposed to be in here?" he asked curiously.

"No. The doctor said a week at the least." She sighed as deeply as she could, not looking forward to staying in here for that long.
